1961 FORD GALAXIE STARLINER PRO STREET $54,900 We have up for sale
a rare body style Galaxie Starliner. Ford only made the distinctive
body style in 1960 & 1961. The car has been transformed into a pro
street. Professionally built and done with attention to detail.
Maintaining its original long sleek bodylines painted in a mirror
smooth black that is miles deep. All the original brightwork is in
perfect condition. Original badging/ornaments are in place how it
came from the factory. Interior retains its original look without
any roll cage. The front and rear bench seats reupholstered in
black vinyl, with correct stitching & narrow pleats. New black
carpet, headliner, door panels and all factory hardware installed.
Dash retains its original look with the upgraded Auto-meter gauges
and aftermarket stereo built in. The trunk was not forgotten,
professionally modified with the added wheel tubs and fuel cell.
Black carpet was custom installed to give a tailored look. When you
lift the hood the 514 cubic inch Ford big block fits neatly in the
Galaxies massive beautifully black painted engine bay. A 460 block
thats been bored and stroked to 514 inches and puts out an
estimated 600 horsepower on pump gas. Theres a lumpy cam in there,
so its got that race car idle, but it smooths right out at speed
and theres thrust available at any engine speed. Theres a massive
Holley 4-barrel carburetor up on top of a Weiand high-rise aluminum
intake and an MSD ignition system. Its nicely dressed in Ford Blue
on the block, a set of polished Ford Motorsports valve covers, and
braided stainless to continue the detail. A beefy Griffin aluminum
radiator with two electric fans helps keep it cool and a serpentine
belt drive for the accessories is a nice upgrade. The custom
exhaust system includes long-tube headers and a custom stainless
steel exhaust system ending in Supertrapp mufflers (which can be
tuned for sound level). No worries its very streetable for such a
beast and runs on high-octane pump gas, so no worries about special
fuel requirements. The Toploader 4-speed manual shifts crisply with
light clutch action, and theres a custom-made driveshaft that goes
back to a custom-built 9-inch rear end. 4.11 gears on a Track-Lok
limited slip and 31-spline axles ensure that all the power reaches
the giant tires. The underside has spotless floors and the
beautiful back-half job that neatly bisects the original frame to
make room for the oversized tires. Adjustable coil-over shocks and
a robust 4-link keep it all under control. Youll be surprised how
streetable and comfortable it is on the streetnot a race car. The
front suspension is stock, although its been augmented with a set
of big disc brakes, lowering springs, and a fat sway bar. A giant
20-gallon fuel cell gives it acceptable cruising range, even with
that big block engine, and the plumbing for the fuel system is
race-spec throughout. Polished aluminum Centerline wheels with Ford
hubs look great and carry 195/65/15 radials up front and those
monstrous 15-inch-wide Mickey Thompson Sportsman meats out back.
This is a flat-out gorgeous car. When you show up with this
Starliner all heads will turn. This is car will consistently put a
smile on your face, whether its on the road, on the track, or at a
show. Its the kind of car that everyone loves and is welcome
wherever it goes. Thats a pretty rare combination. Call today or
stop to see the vehicle!
