For Sale: 1996 Porsche 993 Turbo in Charlotte, North Carolina
With production limited to just four years starting in 1994 and
ending in 1998, Porsche's 911 993 turbo was a huge success. The
sale numbers were close to the 964 sale numbers but in a small
amount of time. This was the first time Porsche had used twin
turbocharging in the engines. The power comes from a 3.6-Liter
biturbo engine with 408 hp standard, and comes with a 6-speed
manual, or a 4-speed automatic factory option. Here are some
factory features you might find on a 993 turbo: front and rear
aprons made of deformable plastic, front apron with 3 air intakes,
rear lid with integrated rear spoiler completely in exterior color,
silver colored "turbo" logo, tail-light panel with red-reflective
Porsche logo, white direction indicators at front, red at rear,
exterior mirrors in cup design, brake calipers painted red, and the
exhaust system with two oval side tailpipes.
This 993 turbo was taken into the hands of TTP and was turned into
a complete monster. TTP has completely disassembled the engine and
replaced all of the worn parts. The engine block has been pinned
for reinforcement, and Carillo connecting rod with H profiles has
been installed. The pistons and cylinders have been renewed and
cylinder heads have been strengthened and equipped with L-ring
gaskets, and cylinder bolts have been renewed. An additional oil
cooler has been installed in the bow of the car and a TTP
intercooler with 50% more volume has been installed. GT2 Evo
camshafts have been installed along with rocker arms that have
mechanical valve adjustment. The spark plugs have been changed to
Bosch F2 CS sparks, and the engine electronics have been
reprogrammed. There have been 2 Garret T35 turbochargers mounted,
and sports catalysts 127 mm x 90 mm 100 cells installed. The
exhaust system has been rebuilt to 70 mm pipe routing and intake
ducts made from stainless steel have been installed. A Sachs sport
clutch has been installed along with a single mass flywheel. For
the boost settings, power at 1.1 bar boost pressure approximately
600 hp, power at 1.4 bar approximately 640 hp (boost is currently
at 1.1 bar). For the front brakes, ceramic GT3 CUP brake discs
380mm mounted, new disc carriers made. Front brake calipers Brembo
6 piston GT3 CUP with 225 mm hole spacing installed. Bracket
between wheel carrier and brake caliper has been made and
installed. Standard GT3 brake pads were installed. And for the rear
brakes, ceramic GT3 CUP discs 355 mm have been mounted, a new disc
carrier with a handbrake drum has been made, and the brake calipers
are original GT3 CUP pad series, and to mount the brake calipers,
spacers and longer bolts were installed. The rims were custom made
for TTP and are no longer available, followed by Pilot Sport Cup 4
S tires mounted.
The car is registered and titled in North Carolina.
