This 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 is one of 355 triple-carbureted Mk II
BN7 two-seat roadsters built between 1961 and 1962, and it was
refurbished in black over green leather around 2015. Power is
provided by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a retrofitted
five-speed manual transmission. Features include a black
convertible top and tonneau cover, a body-color removable hardtop,
side curtains, chrome-finished 15? wire wheels, driving lights, and
front disc brakes. Acquired by the seller in 2022, this BN7 is now
offered with a tool roll, a knock-off hammer, a British Motor
Industry Heritage Trust certificate, and Nova Scotia registration
in the seller's name.
The car was finished from the factory in black, and the body was
removed from the frame and stripped to bare metal during its 2015
refurbishment by British Motor Corporation of Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania. Additional features include a black convertible top,
a matching tonneau cover, a factory-style body-color removable
hardtop, Lucas driving lights, removable side curtains, bright
trim, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Chrome-finished 15? wire
wheels secured by knock-offs are mounted with 165-series Vredestein
Sprint Classic tires. Braking is provided by front discs and rear
drums.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in green leather with black
piping along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets.
Equipment includes a heater, a center armrest, lap belts, rubber
floor mats, a chrome passenger grab handle, and a wood shift knob.
A wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel fronts Smiths
instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm
tachometer, and gauges monitoring oil pressure, coolant
temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows just
over 4k miles, approximately 300 of which were added by the current
owner. Total mileage is unknown. The 2.9-liter inline-six is
equipped with a trio of SU carburetors, an aluminum oil pan, and a
spin-on oil filter adaptor. The engine identification number tag is
missing. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Toyota-sourced
five-speed manual transmission. The stock transmission is included
in the sale.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists colors,
equipment, and production dates of February 12-19, 1962. The body
number 18430 matches the number shown on a tag attached to the
cowl. Walk-around and driving videos are provided.
