For Sale: 1967 Morris Minor in Stratford, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

Excellent body, no indication of plastic filler, repairs, or rust (passed the `magnet` test). Appears to have been repainted once....paint is in very good condition, a light bluish gray. Underneath, we can see some welding on both jacking points, and a few small spots that have been properly repaired....however the other 95% of the floor appears to be perfect - Quite remarkable on a fifty three year old car.

In the Traveler, the wood is NOT trim, it is structural. And this car`s wood appears to be in very close to perfect condition. No rot, no splitting, really excellent. And, if you are unaware, the roof and side panels are all lightweight, rust proof aluminum.

Car has its original 48hp BMC 1100cc engine coupled to a semi close ratio rib case transmission, and 4.22 differential. As the owner of an identical car (same year, same engine), I find it easy to cruise at speeds up to 75 mph. So `going somewhere` isn`t very difficult, making for a very versatile car.

Clearly this car has been improved and updated... Front disc brakes with power assist, front and rear tube shocks, and a front sway bar. With a remarkable improvement in braking, steering, and handling. So if you ever wanted a `super` Morris Minor, just fit a 1275cc Spridget engine and voila! One neat little classic.

Interior is all original and in very good condition. Minor wear, a few small rips in mostly unseen areas, new carpets, excellent headliner. All gauges and lights work as does the more efficient fresh air heater (Regarding the `heater`: We offer a very powerful auxiliary heater that can make a classic English car into one quite toasty on even a 15 degree day. Have installed one in each of my own MGBs and they work wonderfully. Hence, one scheduled to be installed in my own Traveler). Chrome is in very good condition, engine bay detailing (including a fairly new wiring harness...the best single item to ensure a high degree of reliability) nd a modern alternator. Exhaust is quiet, dome light works, has a spare wheel and tire, jack and lug wrench, lots of examples of improvements (new windshield rubber and compression strip, remote brake fluid reservoir, and other minor items). AND we just fitted a new set of high speed (perhaps a bit redundant for this plodding car) radial tires.

A nice car, fun to own and drive, seats four comfortably. Reliable, easy to service, and and fun way of taking the family to a local car show - open up the folding chairs, set up a cooler, and meet your neighbors!

Second day the car was in, having gone through it thoroughly, drove it home. Filled it with gas (and found the fuel gauge is accurate), went shopping, and a blast down the highway at 70 mph, discovering it to be FAR better than my own Traveler. The sway bar makes going through corners feel more like a sports car, ride noticeably better, and WHAT a difference in braking. I mean, this car has real brakes and they work perfectly. And last, but not least, feels quicker than my perfect running car. So....impressive.
