Vehicle Description
The 1997 Chevrolet Corvette will always be a nice collectible
because it was the first year for the C5. And this one is in an
especially rare color. But the true heart of this one appeal is in
its full individual style. The exterior, interior, and even the
engine bay have a custom appearance for a beautiful true blue
attitude.
Nassau Blue is a beautiful color, and so we have no explanation for
why it was so unpopular. In fact, the records show that less than
300 cars were given this ocean-like hue in the C5's first year. So
while more Corvette fans chose red back in the day, it means this
one has its exceptional rarity locked in. This car has only
averaged under 2,200 miles annually, but you'll see plenty of added
investments that make this one feel even fresher than that. There's
a full ground effects body kit that includes a two-piece chin
spoiler, and a full-width rear spoiler. There's a nice silver
streak to the package with the sports stripe, rocker decals,
whinnied banner, and upgraded alloys. Even the special Nassau Blue
was resprayed to keep the full package looking quite unique.
Another piece that turns this rare C5 into a likely one-of-one is
the interior. Blue was not on the options list for 1997 or even the
entire C5's run. Instead, this is a fresher and more luxurious
custom leather setup. There's a premium style where even the dash
and airbag cover were upgraded for a comprehensive appearance. And
the diamond stitching on the doors and seats is a terrific
upper-class touch. You only now get this level of color choice and
luxury from the new C8 Corvette, and so it makes for a cool-looking
addition to this classic. More than just looking awesome, this is
loaded with all the best features. It includes cold-blowing
dual-zone automatic climate control, power windows, power mirrors,
dual airbags, and AM/FM/CD stereo with speakers by Bose. Your
bucket seat power adjusts to the ideal driving position. The
leather-wrapped steering wheel is on a tilt column to give you a
clear view of the cool white gauge package.
The engine bay continues the custom style with a terrific mix of
blue and polish. You can tell this one was made to be shown off
whenever you want. And more than just stylish, a proper Corvette
was made to be driven. After all, the 5.7-liter LS1 fuel-injected
V8 is a terrific powerhouse that gives America's sports car an
impressive 345 horsepower. Features like cruise control, power
steering, and the four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive
make for a fine grand touring car. And the fully independent sports
suspension and four-wheel power disc brakes know how to make any
road fun.
This much distinction and investment in a rare Corvette is
especially impressive when you factor in the affordable price.
