Ford introduced the newly redesigned 1994 Mustang in December 1993. It was the first major redesign since 1979. This redesign was considered to be a vast improvement over the outgoing 1993 model.
With the 1994 debut, SVT applied its unique blend of performance, substance, exclusivity, and value to the SN-95 platform and introduced a new, more potent Cobra. Later in 1994, the first SVT 1994 Mustang Cobra Convertible was offered (the first since the 1970 Shelby models). Available only in red exterior, it was selected as the Official Pace Car for the 1994 Indianapolis 500. The convertible was produced in only 1000 numbered production units with a red exterior, saddle tan leather interior and convertible top, and with Indy 500 emblems. This excellent original example, # 705, with less than 38,000 original miles has been meticulously maintained.
