Vehicle Description
1941 Ford Super Deluxe Tudor Sedan
With the unpredictability surrounding the approaching WWII Ford did
a complete redesign of their vehicles. With the potential of having
to halt production they knew they needed something that was going
to be well perceived in the market as they likely would have to
keep the design for an unknown amount of years. These cars saw
multiple changes throughout their initial years which often would
confuse mechanics later on. One unique feature was the multi piece
front end/fenders which was an effort to make body repairs much
easier with less steel after an accident. The previous models of
Standard and Deluxe changed to the Special, Deluxe and Super
Deluxe. This 1941 Ford is the higher end Super Deluxe and is the
Tudor Sedan body style. The car is an older build that was put
together to be a fun weekend show car you could drive anywhere. The
body is solid with no rust issues and painted Burgundy. It has nice
White pinstriping accents on the nose and around the rear trunk
handle. The car wears a lot of its original chrome and stainless
trim which is in good condition. All the of the glass is in place
and it has its original style 2 piece front windshield. It also
still has a cowl, which you often see filled in, and it is
opens/closes properly. The car rides on a set of Smoothie style
wheels wrapped in Coker wide white wall tires.
Turning those tires is a 8BA Flathead V8 motor out of a 1950 Ford.
It has been completely rebuilt and machined by Bud Lee who is
considered a Flathead expert so you know it was done right. It has
been fitted with a Stromberg 91 carburetor and the car runs great.
An added electric push fan and custom shroud around the mechanical
fan keep it running cool. It has been converted to 12 volt and has
a Malory Electronic ignition with Rebel Wiring. It also has a 130
Amp alternator that was rebuilt by Reams Auto Electric in
Arlington, TX. The car sounds great through the Red's headers into
Smithy mufflers. The 3 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly
with no issues sending power back to the stock rear end.
The interior has been redone in a Beige and Red two tone combo by
Carey's upholstery. The custom front bench seat has a folding
armrest with storage compartment and cupholders. The dash has a
mostly stock layout and painted in Brown/Tan but has had Dakota
Digital gauges added. Under the dash a custom panel was made to
house the Pioneer Super II stereo that was professionally installed
by Wrights Auto Detail and Accessories. Also under the dash are
switches for the electric fan and electric fuel pump. The trunk
with Ford floor mat has plenty of storage space for all your car
show gear and houses the matching spare and fire extinguisher.
This nicely done Super Deluxe has some neat old school features and
the previous owner drove it all over it place. It has 11,931 miles
on it since completed and is being offered up at a price you can't
beat.
