Vehicle Description
1987 Buick Grand National
The life of the Grand National was short lived but their legendary
80's status still holds a special place in many collectors hearts.
Their dark Black paint commanded attention and were a performance
focused package based on the Buick Regal. All Grand Nationals were
2 door hardtops and Buick would later develop a relationship with
MacLaren to create a limited edition GNX version. Of the Grand
Nationals many prefer the 1987 model year like the car you see
here. Its nice Black paint is in great condition and this one was
ordered with a moonroof. All of the exterior electrical is working
properly and to go with the Blacked out look it has smoked
headlight covers in place. The glass is in good condition
throughout and has a dark tint. The car still wears all of its
original Grand National badges which are cleanly mounted in place.
The car rides on Blacked out GNX style wheels with Kumho tires.
Propelling the Grand National down the road is its turbocharged
3.8L V6. These cars were quick in their day in the later years for
the Grand National the motors also received sequential fuel
injection making them much more economical as well. If you were a
hot rodder back in the 80's these cars would definitely give you a
run for your money. They were built to conform with all the current
regulations while still giving you that performance feel. The TH200
automatic transmission has 4 gears and shifts smoothly sending
power back to the 12 bolt rear end. Mechanically this car is mostly
stock and it rides down the road great.
The interior features its original light Gray and Black color
combo. The dual bucket seats are in great shape and it has the
Grand National emblem embroidered on the headrests. The original
center console houses the t handle shifter and an upholstered arm
rest. The car comes with original Grand National floor mats and the
carpet underneath is in good condition. The car was ordered with
power locks, power windows, air condition, and also has cruise
control. The dash has been kept mostly stock except for the added
custom stereo which includes trunk mounted Polk Audio subwoofers
and dual Clarion Amplifiers.
This is one cool classic and these have become quite the collector
vehicle.
