Vehicle Description
This 1972 GMC Jimmy 4x4 represents a rare vintage done right.
There's proper V8 power, a distinctive color combo, 4x4 prowess,
and plenty of nice extra - all wrapped around the full convertible
appeal. It makes for the best of everything in one cool vintage
package.
For many full-size 4x4 fans, this Jimmy is the one. The first-gen
gave you a full convertible top, and the GMC version was rarer than
the Chevy. So it gives this one an instant respect and demand even
before you check out the total vintage package. The factory-correct
Medium Blue paint was given a quality respray so it has a nice
gloss that loves to pop in the sunlight (always nice on a
convertible.) Plus, you can tell this one was a premium
Cheyenne-level SUV with details like all the trim done in a
cool/classic wood applique. Bright chrome bumpers, an imposing
polished grille, dual exhaust tips, and Rally wheels also add to
this premium feeling with a quality brightwork package. And since
this is a true useful 4x4 with a tall stance and proper trailer
hitch, this clean vintage Jimmy can make people jealous everywhere
from the campsite to the boat ramp.
While we like the look of the bright white hardtop, you really want
to take it off to show the rare and desirable full open-air
experience. Plus, there's something quite cool about the full blue
interior against the full blue exterior that gives this open-air
4x4 the same appeal as tropical ocean water. And the trim tag tells
us this was born this way! It has a very stock style, but you can
tell there was an investment here later in life because the premium
Cheyenne western-style pattern on the seats and doors still has a
nice texture. There are nice features like a wood-rimmed steering
wheel, provisions for factory air conditioning (it will need
servicing,) and a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner with aux input.
And we love how a classic like this remains a true practical
cruiser.
Under the hood is a stout small block V8. This 350 cubic-inch motor
is suspected to be a later crate V8, and it shows all the right
signs of good maintenance. Topped with a four-barrel carburetor, it
fires up readily and makes a nice tune out of the dual exhaust. A
stout V8 like this is great in a go-anywhere 4x4 - especially with
the two-speed transfer case, tall stance, and BF Goodrich
All-Terrain T/As. But more than just an off-roader, this is also an
easy cruiser thanks to a three-speed automatic transmission, power
steering, and power brakes with front discs.
This Jimmy offers sharp looks, GMC rarity, full convertible appeal,
and a strong-running total package. So don't miss this all-around
stunner. Call today!!!
