Pertronixs Electronic ignition for distributor.
Cobra frame mounted remote oil cooler and remote oil filter and a
cast aluminum cobra 7.5 quart oil pan. The engine starts with a
Tilton super starter and is topped off with Polished and Detailed
aluminum 427 valve covers and cobra oval air cleaner. Transmission
is a Ford Toploader close ratio 4 speed, the gear shifter is Hurst
competition Plus.
Mcloed hydraulic T/O bearing, making shifting light and easy.
Custom built tubular headers with side pipes silver ceramic
finished by jet hot.
Built in 1995 By L.A. Exotics "LAE" Anaheim, California
Custom built for 6'4" tall driver without altering the dimensions
of the body.
Cormat manufactured body for increased strength, heat insulation
and sound reduction.
The body has a one piece gelcoat that was custom finished in
British racing green with white painted Lemans stripes over gel
coat.
The gelcoat is much more weather resistant and durable than paint &
clearcoat finish.
The windshield is brass around chrome with safety glass.
Headlights are period Correct DOT approved Wagner sealed beams,
tail lights are DOT approved number SAE SRP 69.
The chassis, main frame rails and outriggers are Mig welded 2" � 4"
120 inch wall rectangular steel with Cross X Member.
The drop floor pan is 12 gauge steel. There is a 1.5 inch steel
driveshaft protector bracket.
The frame also features for extra safety double Cowl bars of 2" �
1" iron welded to exclusive 2" � 4" outriggers for the added side
protection. Steel reinforced doors are hinged in Metal directly to
the frame. The competition seatbelts are also mounted directly to
the frame.
Front suspension features mustang 2 rack and pinion steering with
unequal length a arms with adjustable coil over Moog springs and
KYB shocks for front and rear. The rear suspension consists of a 9
inch Ford Currie enterprises built traction lock 3.50 gear ratio
Daytona pinion support was added for extra strength. Mustang GT 4
bar trailing arms. 4 wheel disc Brakes are enhanced with a
Thunderbird vacuum brake booster a Ford master cylinder number
#11855, Ford proportioning valve & Ford pedal assembly.
The fuel system utilizes a Ford mustang 16.7 gallon steel tank that
is completely surrounded by rear frame. All of the brake lines are
steel constructed. Cooling is managed by a custom utilizing 4 Row
upper and lower tanks. Correct chrome Thunderbird coolant expansion
tank and a 16 inch Scott's electric puller fan with Mattson custom
built shroud.
Wheels and tires consist of PS engineering custom-made aluminum to
replicate the original Halibrand 3 spoke knock off wheels and
measure 15 � 7.5 front in 9.5 in the rear with Cooper Cobra tires
15 inch 235 Front 275 Rear
The interior was kept clean and simple, featuring a genuine cobra
Mota Lita steering wheel 14 inches to maximize the space. Seats and
dash are covered in black Connelly leather and carpeting is
Mercedes wool, door panels, covered with black vinyl with a storage
area. All door hood, trunk latches rearview sideview mirrors are
English true to the original cobras.
Firia custom gauges for fuel, oil pressure and temperature, oil
temperature, speedometer, tachometer and related switches for horn,
headlights, wipers, thermostat temp override switch. Seatbelts are
3 inches wide original hook and claw competition bolted to the
frame.
This is not just another Shelby cobra kit car, this is a replica
that was built with as much similarity as possible to the original
Shelby Cobra cars in 1965. Staying true with an original four-speed
and as close to the original Cobra cars made famous by Ford and
Carrol Shelby.
This is a one owner vehicle who was witness to the complete
assembly production installation, and roll out of the car from day,
one in Anaheim, California.
