Vehicle Description
This 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am has been given solid
investments to give you everything you want, including sleek paint,
four-on-the-floor, and air conditioning. This one does a great job
at being both a stunning classic and a strong cruiser that you get
the numbers-matching V8...but now with fuel injection!
The second-generation Trans Am was a seriously intimidating
package. The wide ground effects in front of the wheel wells,
integrated rear spoiler, and shaker hood give this a real presence
on the streets. The Endura front end gives the Firebird Trans Am an
aggressive beak that perfectly complements the famous hood bird
graphic. The red and black on this logo and on the T/A details look
nice against the factory-correct white. The paint is a quality
respray that utilizes its nice gloss to help the sunlight highlight
the well-fitting body panels. We're even told this one had spent
most of its life thus far as a desirable Arizona car. Not only does
this one stand out, but also the whole car looks period-correct
right down to the rear window louvers and iconic snowflake alloy
wheels.
The red interior is a terrific pairing as it coordinates with the
graphics, including the big hood bird up front. This one gets its
appearance right down to the bright and sporty machine-turned dash
panel. But while it may look straight from 1978 inside, everything
feels far fresher. The dash pad, carpet, headliner, and door panels
have a clean and inviting style. And we especially like the soft
velour on the seats. This T/A also takes the time for
well-integrated upgrades like a newer Classic Auto Air A/C system
running through the factory controls and a retro-style radio that
now gives you modern Bluetooth. And this Pontiac knows how to
engage the driver with the classic T/A sports steering wheel, a
tilt column, power steering, a floor shifter in the center console,
and full gauges, including the tach/cock combo.
Under the hood is proper Pontiac power with the 400 cubic-inch V8.
This is the numbers-matching motor, and it has an exceptionally
stock presentation right down to the shaker hood display. But looks
can be a bit deceiving. This V8 has been upgraded with a Holley
Sniper fuel injection system for the best in power and consistency.
The numbers-matching four-speed manual transmission gives you full
control of the power and the growl of the newer H-pipe dual
exhaust. This is built to be a nice handle with Bilstein shocks and
thick sway bars front & rear. The power brake package has been
overhauled everywhere, from the master cylinder to the wheel
cylinders. There are even front discs with slotted rotors. It all
means that this stunner is also a sharp driver.
The sale comes complete with build receipts and the factory
buildsheet. It's a great T/A, and this one has all the features you
want. So if you like power, history, and distinction, call
today!
