For Sale: 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air in Rogers, Minnesota

Vehicle Description

This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible was beautifully restored to stock specifications and features the famous "Dual Quad" engine under an iconic "Batwing" air cleaner. During a span of 3 years in the mid-fifties, 1955, 1956, and 1957, otherwise known as the Tri-Five era, Chevrolet produced some of its most iconic passenger cars of all time. In the final year of the Tri-Five era, 1957, Chevrolet produced perhaps its most recognizable and quintessential Tri-Five Chevy, the 1957 Bel Air. Compared to the previous two years, 1955 and 1956, the 1957 Bel Air underwent some of its most significant stylistic redesign. Likely the most identifiable redesign occurred to the rear quarter panels which saw the addition of the large fins that give the Bel Air its iconic classic 50s look. To elevate the Bel Air above the entry-level 150 and mid-range 210 models, Chevrolet added three gold anodized louvers to each of the front fenders along with a matching gold anodized "V" emblem on the front of the hood and a gold "Bel Air" script on the trunk. The new-look '57 Chevys featured a redesigned front end, with a totally new looking grille and bumper layout as well as an even flatter hood with dual wind splits. The interiors were also refreshed in 1957 with the Bel Air interiors being the plushest and most luxurious in Chevrolet's passenger car line. Additionally, the 1957 Chevrolet's were equipped with a newly redesigned dash. Besides their looks, the 1957 Chevys also featured major upgrades under the hood including the introduction of the 283 V8 which offered 18 additional cubic inches of displacement from the previous year's 265 V8. Moreover, the 283 V8 came with a multitude of fuel delivery options including entry-level options such as a single 2 barrel or a single 4 barrel, and high-performance options including a novel fuel injection setup and the more traditional "Dual Quad" dual 4-barrel setup. On this particular Bel Air, a 283 Cubic Inch V8 engine is tucked beneath a "Batwing" air cleaner housing dual 4-barrel carburetors that together were said to have produced 245 horsepower when new. The Dual Quad 283 V8 is backed by a Powerglide Automatic transmission that makes this Tri-Five Chevy easy for anybody to drive. Exhaust exits the 283 V8 via a dual exhaust setup that gives this convertible a nice throaty sound. In addition to the Powerglide Automatic, this '57 Chevy Convertible is loaded with many desirable options. Power Steering improves the overall driving experience on this Bel Air, especially when you're trying to wiggle into a tight parking spot a the local drive-in or car show. This 1957 Bel Air Convertible rides on a set of 4 wide whitewall radial tires paired with full Spinner wheelcovers which give the car a fantastic 50s look. A rear-mounted continental kit further adds to that 50s allure as well. The white vinyl power convertible top is in fantastic shape and goes up and down with the simple flick of a switch mounted neatly under the dash. The exterior of this '57 Chevy has been refinished in a beautiful Matador Red, just how the car came back in 1957. The chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this convertible is gorgeous as well and completes the exterior look of this fantastic Tri-Five Chevy. The interior on this Bel Air Convertible is absolutely stunning! The front and rear bench seats have been correctly reupholstered in red and silver vinyl. The black carpeting, Matador Red painted dash, red and silver upholstered door panels, and full-size steering wheel are all in wonderful condition as well and all appear to be in their stock configuration. The dash is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge, as well as an AM radio and clock. Whether you're buying your first classic car or you're adding to your Tri-Five collection, this 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible would make an excellent choice.
