Vehicle Description
1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 454
Why This Vehicle is Special
The styling of the 1970 Monte Carlo, like the 1970 SS 454 Monte
Carlo we have here at Skyway Classics, was a huge success back in
that year when they hit the showroom, and this one will put a smile
on your face too with the original big block Chevy 454 engine
stamped CRN, 3-speed automatic transmission, 12-bolt rear end, dark
green interior, white paint, and black vinyl top.
It is rare as only 3,823 Monte Carlo SS produced in 1970, with a
lot less having the 454, as well as this one even having the very
rare option of the Automatic level control!

Mechanical
The powertrain we have in our Monte Carlo is what we believe to be
the original big block 454 Chevvy engine stamped CRN backed by an
automatic transmission and putting the power to the ground via the
12-bolt rear end.
It looks as it did when it left the factory with the block, heads,
and intake painted in Chevrolet racing orange, chrome aluminum
finned valve covers and matching Chrome dual snorkel factory air
cleaner w/454 decal, Performance spark plug wire set, Power
steering, Power brakes, Factory air conditioning, Dual exhaust
system, and the rare factory option of Automatic level control,
with all sitting in a detailed engine compartment.
Interior
The green interior of this beauty has twin front bucket seats,
Delco AM/FM stereo, Factory dash with all gauges, switches,
controls, accessory gauges below, Woodgrain trim on the dash,
Chevrolet steering wheel, Seatbelts, rear bench seat, door panels,
center console with 4-speed shifter, and a Stereo AM/FM Radio
System.
The trunk carries also looks great with the trunk mat and full-size
spare tire and wheel and has a lot of space for luggage.
Exterior
Our beautiful monte Carlo is finished in white that looks awesome
with great bodywork that has a great shine. The chrome is very
good, the stainless has been well maintained, as well as the
bumpers and the black vinyl top provides great contrast to the
paint.
Our 1970 was distinguished by its chromed rectangular grille with
two horizontal dividers, SS 454 emblems, a bumper directly below
the headlamps, and tail lights with chrome trim around the
perimeter of the lens only.
