This 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe is a very cool blend of vintage
and upgraded. After all, the classic Chevy lines are rendered in a
vibrant finish. Plus, everything from upgraded V8 power to the
custom/comfy interior makes it ready for the road.
These Chevys seem ripe for some street machine attitude. The
immediate pre-WWII cars kept getting more streamlines every year.
So the factory's torpedo-style headlights, swept-back fenders,
bullet-style tail lights, and rounded trunk were already delivering
streetrod style even before it was a thing. And this one makes sure
to add the little things that give it added distinction. For
example, while we often see American Racing Torq Thrust wheels,
this uses their 200s version. And while we love polished rear dual
exhaust tips, there's just something extra sporty about the
center-exit look. Plus, the fiberglass fenders do a nice job of
hugging the all-steel main body. The louvered hood, green
pinstriping, and bright red paint are also all about what makes
this such a fun 1930 custom. So there's a lot to love in this
Chevy.
Inside, the two rows of gray bench seats have a nice hint of
tuck-and-roll pattern. It makes for a nice combination of updated
tweed comfort without losing the spacious and airy atmosphere that
comes with these classic two-door sedans. You may choose to restore
the air conditioning (possibly just needs a charge) or upgrade the
stereo, but it feels road-ready from day one. Custom door panels
with billet handles, a sports steering wheel on a tilt column, and
crisp/clean VDO gauges show you that this is a thoughtful build.
There's even a CB radio in the ceiling. It all makes for a custom
car with the main objective to be something fun that's ready to
cruise.
Under the distinct butterfly hood lies a 350 cubic-inch small
block. After all, an updated Chevy deserves the best in hardy Chevy
power. The V8 is upgraded with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor,
an Edelbrock intake, and shorty headers feeding the dual exhaust.
The motor fires up easily and runs smoothly. This total package is
meant to be an easy cruiser. That's why you have an updated
independent front end, power steering, power brakes, and a
three-speed automatic transmission.
