Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is happy to present this
newly done 1940 Ford Pickup. Finished in a glossed matte black
exterior with color matched running boards & bumpers, very nice
brightwork, cream colored 15"/16" staggered wheels with the classic
chrome "V8" dog dish center caps & a newer set of wide white walls,
this Ford retains it's classic styling with just the right amount
of hot-rod looks! Powered by a well-dressed Chevrolet 350 CID V8
and teamed up to a 700R4 automatic transmission, this old Ford is
definitely highway ready. The engine bay glistens like a gem,
showing of the chromed billet serpentine assembly, chrome Chevrolet
valve covers, polished chrome A/C compressor, water pump &
alternator. The Edelbrock aluminum intake and Edelbrock carb are
feeding the SBC 350 and the long tube headers are running through a
custom exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers. One look at the build
quality shows just how much time & money actually went into it. The
undercarriage continues to show the build quality as well. A custom
fabbed chassis and front cradle, a new front suspension with
tubular A-arms, control arms, all new bushings, 4-wheel disc
brakes, drive shaft loop and frame connecting rails holding in the
coil overs & the Ford 9" rear end make this one bad little '40! The
camel-colored interior nicely contrasts the black exterior as the
doors open, showing off the custom door inserts with machined
handles, pedals, the modern buckets, the updated gauge cluster and
the high-boy shifter. Even the roof & rear window deck of the cab
are completely finished. This is a nicely built, ready to roll
custom 1940 that will easily be a show winner!
