The exterior paintwork was completed nearly two decades ago and is
in great overall condition with excellent gaps and panel fit and
some imperfections. The exterior is equipped with Bosch headlights,
factory glass, and original brightwork. The interior features black
leatherette seats with cloth inserts, a VDM steering wheel with a
deluxe butterfly horn ring, and VDO instrumentation. The 5 " x 15"
chrome wheels are fitted to Vredestein Sprint Classic 185 70 HR15
tires. Due to its long life in Southern California, the
undercarriage is incredibly dry with no signs of rust.
The earliest known provenance begins with California registration
cards dating back to 1981 with Homer Carson III as the registered
owner. In the fall of 1986, the 912 traded hands to Mr. Litchy
whose ownership was continuous until the early 2000s. Mr. Litchy
was a dental director in Chula Vista, California and under his
ownership, the 912 was primarily serviced by Mike Schreiber Volvo
in San Diego, California. According to the history, the 912 has two
more owners in the Southern California region who service and
maintained the vehicle. In 2022, Dutch Treat Porsche in Lawndale,
California completed a full service and installed new Bilstein
shocks on all four corners at 53,356 miles.
Mechanically powered by its matching 1600cc flat-four engine (Type
616/40) that runs phenomenally paired to its matching 5-speed
transmission (Type 901) with four-wheel disc brakes. Complete with
a spare wheel, jack, owner's manual, and ownership records dating
back to 1981. A great opportunity to acquire a factory electric
sunroof, long wheelbase 912 that has been well maintained
throughout its life.
