In the fall of 1986, the 912 traded hands to Mr. Litchy whose ownership was continuous until the early 2000s. Mr. Litchy was a dental director in Chula Vista, California and under his ownership, the 912 was primarily serviced by Mike Schreiber Volvo in San Diego, California. According to the history, the 912 has two more owners in the Southern California region who service and maintained the vehicle. In 2022, Dutch Treat Porsche in Lawndale, California completed a full service and installed new Bilstein shocks on all four corners at 53,356 miles.

Mechanically powered by its matching 1600cc flat-four engine (Type 616/40) that runs phenomenally paired to its matching 5-speed transmission (Type 901) with four-wheel disc brakes.
