Vehicle Description
With a great color combo, 400ci V8 power, four-on-the-floor, and
the right subtle upgrades, this 1969 Pontiac Firebird is quite
attractive for those who like driving and properly enjoying their
classics.
An iconic hardtop classic like this always looks great when someone
takes the time to give it a bold red upgrade. This is more of a
burgundy metallic. So you have the aggressive red style but with
deeper tones and a nice radiance in the sunshine. It makes for
quite a nice first impression. It doesn't try to be too fancy in
its finish, but the clean and straight lines of the body certainly
make this one look good. And you have some of your favorite pieces
that make the '69 a desirable year, including the exclusive chrome
front bumper/grille design and dual hood scoops with callouts.
There are also some nice upgrades, like polished 18-inch wheels
that let you mount modern sports tires, and there's a rear wing
that would make a GTO jealous. It all makes for the kind of coupe
you want to take everywhere just because it's memorable anywhere it
arrives.
The black interior goes well with the deep burgundy interior. You
can appreciate the little things, like the working dome light, wide
headrest, vintage wood-like trim, and the red Firebird script floor
mats that coordinate with the paint on the outside. And just like
the exterior, it looks nice without ever getting too fancy to enjoy
it truly. High-back front bucket seats, a center console
in-between, a classic/grippy steering wheel, and a Hurst shifter
ensure a confident driving position.
Under the hood is the light blue block that symbolizes proper
Pontiac power. This is a year-correct but non-matching 400
cubic-inch V8. We love having this large and famous powerhouse, and
the clean engine bay also shows off quality details. You have a
four-barrel carburetor, an Optima marine battery, and a large
aluminum radiator. Best of all, you have complete control over this
big V8 thanks to the Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission.
Plus, you have power steering, power brakes, front discs, and
grippy ZR-rated tires.
The idea with this one is that you have a sharp-looking driver's
car filled with all the fun features you want. So you may decide to
upgrade the radio or tune the motor to dial in your ideal
performance. But when you have such a clean and complete example of
one the most in-demand Firebird years around, you know this one
delivers a terrific coupe for the price. Call now!
