For Sale: 1941 Willys Pickup in Ft Worth, Texas

Vehicle Description

This 1941 Willys pickup is a sought-after classic. After all, we rarely see a steel-bodied original like this. And that's the base for the full custom treatment that includes a Heidts chassis, sleek style, and a fully-built dual-quad stroker V8.

We love these Willys builds because you get all the iconic pieces like the pointed nose, flowing fenders, teardrop headlights, and electric shaver grille. And while you even get those on the fiberglass replicas, this one has some telltale signs that make sure enthusiasts pay attention. Details like the fender body gaskets, classic door hinges, and side trim are the kind of things that the replicas often skip. So a good job announcing that it's an original and the others are imitators. And while this one has classic details, like the real wood truck bed, the real fun is all the investments in a proper street machine. The vibrant orange is a clean and sleek application that loves to help the sunlight highlight all the iconic curves. The hood pins, side exhaust tips, frenched license plate, and custom Willys tailgate are all part of the work that shows this is a fun custom. And the classic Centerline Auto Drag wheels have the extra wide rear set to give this an awesome stance and make sure everyone recognizes where the power meets the pavement.

The bright orange returns inside as an accent color. It goes well with the black used for the plush carpeting, clean door panels, taut headliner, and cool first-gen Mustang bucket seats. Details like seatbelts and a heater make it a better cruiser to invite along a passenger, but you can also tell this one gives the driver full priority. You have a Lecarra sports steering wheel in a tilt column, classic-style Moon gauges in the dash, and a B&M ratchet shifter. Plus, we love the horizon tach prominently mounted on the dash for a classic head-up display.

The powerhouse is always a key part of a Willys hot rod, and so this one makes sure to put it on full display. You have a clean and tidy style to the 350 cubic-inch V8 and the dual Edelbrock four-barrel carburetors on top of a Weiand intake. We're told this is a full-performance build that includes an enlargement to a 383ci stroker setup. This list also includes a Big Thumpr full roller cam, 10.5:1 compression, Pro Action aluminum heads, Scorpion roller rockers, an Eagle crank, Eagle rods, and Eagle pistons. There are also good supporting components like an MSD ignition, a high-volume oil pump, and a Pete Jacobs timing gear drive. This warms up to be quite a strong motor, and so it's nice to have the Heidts chassis to have a strong base against all this torque. The three-speed automatic transmission has an 1800 stall for an ideal powerband, and that feeds into a 9-inch rear with 3.73 gears. There's also a Mustang II-style front end, rack & pinion steering, front disc brakes, and a four-link rear with adjustable coilovers.

This Willys has the sleek/mean look we all love, and an awesome power package to back it up. And no matter how you want to enjoy this pickup, there is an undying desirability of being one of the few who has a true example forged from pre-war steel. Call today!!!
