This 1986 Ford F150 XL is an exceptionally nice and very clean
truck that spent its life in the Pacific NW (Oregon). This truck
was a 1 Owner truck until 2022 when the original owner sold it to a
friend of his mechanic's because it needed a new engine. Since he
did not use the truck alot and did not want to spend the money on a
new engine he decided to sell. It is very hard to find nice
Bullnose pickups so this is a cool find. The body on this truck is
very straight and very clean. The paint is mostly original with the
exception of the hood and roof being repainted because of some
fading, The colors are Desert Tan Metallic and Light Desert Tan.
The paint still looks excellent! The chrome and moldings are all
original and are in excellent condition. The underside is also
really nice and clean and we found no rust issues with this
truck.
The interior is also in beautiful shape and appears to be all
original and well cared for. It is a really nice example of a
Bullnose interior and supports the overall low mileage on the
truck. The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn signals
are all working. The gauges all work. The cruise control, heat,
wipers, and horn hork. This truck even has the original Ford radio
which is also working.
Mechanically this truck is excellent and it runs and drives
wonderful. The engine is a new long block 5.8L 351 Windsor ATK
Crate Engine. Nearly everything was new or rebuilt and we have a
lot of teh receipts totalling $4,500. The carb is a Factory Holley
4 Barrel which was rebuilt as well. The engine runs strong and
smooth and has less than 1,000 miles on it since it was installed.
The body of this truck has approximately 136K on it. (Once the
engine was replaced the truck was driven for testing and then the
Odometer was set back to zero to show the amount of miles on the
rebuilt engine). The transmission is the C6 Automatic that shifts
nice and it is mated to the Borg Warner Manual Transfer Case. The
4WD works like it should. The rear axle is a Ford 9" with 3.50
gears and the front axle is a Dana 44 TTB with 3.50 gears. This is
all sitting on a nice set of chrome wheels with nearly new 31 Inch
All Terrain tires.
