For Sale: 1971 Plymouth Road Runner in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

This is the "right" car! Born exactly as you see it now. All these very desirable colors and options match the original invoice and fender tag. #s match motor and trans. 59,281 actual unabused miles. Original rust-free metal.

EXTERIOR: Born like you see it including the white reflective stripes, black hood stripe which is part of the decor group. It is also a factory air grabber car. The body is absolutely straight and fits spot on. No rust or damage. Repainted 1 time in it's original B5 Blue. The paint is beautiful but has some flaws if you go looking for them. Jambs are mint. Weatherstrips and seals are excellent. It also has fender turn signals and racing mirrors. All the stainless trim and chrome is excellent. Very nice original glass. 15 inch Rallye wheels with BFG tires.

INTERIOR: I feel like I'm sitting in a new 1971 Road Runner. The dash in front of me is pristine. The dash pad, wood grain, chrome bezels, gauges, knobs, heater controls are mint. It has the optional tachometer and working AM-FM radio. Original steering wheel shows hardly any wear. Glovebox liner is mint, it has a working light and owner's pouch with manuals. The carpet on the floor is replaced, it has embroidered floor mats. The best part of all is the pistol grip shifter sticking out in the hump. The upholstery is excellent. The door panels and plastic trim is excellent. The original headliner is really nice except for a mouse hole over the shoulder belt. Seat belts are excellent shape. It has optional inside hood release and very rare driver's aid group. It indicates low fuel, seatbelts latched and doors locked.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It's a beautiful motor compartment. It has it's Vin number matching 383 Magnum making 335 horsepower. Original air grabber system is functional. It also has power brakes. All stock components- manifolds, valve covers, alternator etc. It even has Mopar heater hoses, correct clamps, dated spark plug wires and a Mopar battery. The beep beep road runner horn works. The engine bay is all clean metal painted gloss B5 blue. The original fender tag is still attached, the Vin number is stamped on the cowl and core support.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: This car continues to impress me. Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted glossy. Under the mat is clean metal, there's no splices. It has a restored rally wheel spare. Complete jack assembly was restored. Mat and weatherstrip look new.

UNDERSIDE: Very solid original underside maintained as needed. There are still some factory assembly markings showing. The front-end steering and suspension look good. It does have new polyurethane swaybar bushings. Upgraded Koni gas shocks all around. Very neatly installed dual exhaust with crossover pipe and turn down tips. It has disc brakes in front, e-brake assembly is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it is clean, starter is new. The casting codes on the side of the block are correct. The matching vin # is stamped on the pad above the oil pan. It has the correct 833 4-speed with matching vin stamped on it. It has original Sure Grip rear end. No rust original metal floors and frame rails.

I'm telling you this is an exceptional car. Fit, finish, and function are very impressive. It is very rare and highly desirable to find one optioned out this well. This one is a keeper!
