Vehicle Description
2000 Dodge Viper GTS - 8.0L V10 - 6 Speed Manual Transmission -
9456 Miles - Red Exterior - Black Interior - Eibach Lowering
Springs Vipers have made their mark among car enthusiasts and those
of us who admire vehicles which were designed with the vision of
the creation of an updated version of a successful model of the
past. The Vipers are simple, purpose built cars which are
reminiscent of a Shelby Cobra. Early Viper owners are well aware
that the cars do not offer many creature comforts, but are amazing
track day vehicles, and lots of fun to cruise around in. The
introduction of the GTS coupe model was a welcome addition to the
Viper lineup as a member of the Generation 2 Vipers. The sleek body
is reminiscent of the Daytona coupes thanks to the long nose,
sloping rear end, and Gurney Humps in the roof. The coupes are
smooth, aggressive looking cars. In early 1989, the Viper was
presented as a concept car at the North American International Auto
Show. The production car didn't vary too much from the concept,
which at the time was a car with a wild look, and having a large
displacement V10 engine was preposterous. However, the Viper made
it to production, and now as enthusiasts we can enjoy beautiful
examples like this car. The car you see here is a 2000 Dodge Viper
GTS finished in Viper Red over a black leather interior, and shows
just 9,456 miles on the odometer. Viper Red, just as it was on the
1989 concept car, covers the wild curves and contours of this GTS
Coupe. The exterior is in great condition, thanks in part to the
low mileage, but a large part is that the car has always been well
cared for. The car has no stripes, which seems to make the vents
and strakes on the hood more noticeable, and gives the car a sleek
look. Smooth 18 5-spoke wheels like you see here, replaced the
previous generation's five spoke wheels which had scallops along
the lip between the spokes. As we mentioned earlier, the interior
of the Viper is quite simple with many expected creature comforts,
or options being absent. However, the car is comfortable once
inside, and the driver has the important items needed for a great
driving experience. A three-spoke steering wheel frames a
speedometer and tachometer, while 4 auxiliary gauges are within
easy view at the center of the dashboard. A wide center console is
home to the manual gear shifter, and handbrake. Gurney Humps in the
roof give a few inches of extra space for those wearing helmets in
the car. The trunk area is home to a spare tire, a stereo
amplifier, and a few speakers. A set of golf clubs might even fit
in there too. Vipers have such a unique shape, and look quite
large, but they are quite simple, so not all that heavy. A lighter
weight car plus a 8.0L V10 that pumps out 450 horsepower is a
recipe for a very fast car. Power was up from the Generation 1
car's 400 horsepower. Once the forward-canting hood is open, the
intake manifold with its snaking runners, and red Viper branded
valve covers are hard to miss. It's all business under the hood,
with not much more than an engine under there. The engine bay on
this car is tidy, as is the underside of the car. Long, stainless
steel mufflers, heat shields, aluminum suspension components, big
brakes, and a partial frame cradling the engine are all in great
condition. When introduced to the public in early 1989, the Viper
was a wild car, with a bad attitude. The Viper script and the snake
head badge are unforgettable. Early Vipers don't look quite so wild
in today's standards, but are still handsome cars that are
desirable to collectors and enthusiasts. This Viper Red GTS Coupe
is a car that should be taken into consideration by collectors. Low
mileage, well cared for, and lacking racing stripes are just a few
things that make this Viper special. Please call if interested or
