Vehicle Description
The 1954 Dodge C1 launched a new design direction for Mopar
pickups, so they are pretty well-respected by fans. And that kind
of vintage admiration only grows with some well-done patina.
However, it doesn't take much to see that this landmark pickup
borrows plenty from later Mopars to deliver a restomod with a
fuel-injected powerhouse, an overdrive transmission, an updated
chassis, and an A/C interior.
It's more than just the Rust-eze emblems on the doors that make you
think of Tow Mater. This has a well-engineered patina over the
whole body that makes you think of the well-used and extremely
loyal character from Cars. This one has an authentic feeling, right
down to the weathered plywood truck bed floor. And just like Tow
Mater, you can see more here than you get in the first impression.
You'll start to see details, like the pinstriping, modern Ram
emblem, and cool red alloys, that tell you this classic pickup
looks like a cool cruiser.
The interior reveals a bit more about this C1's upgraded style.
After all, the door panels and dash may have a classic patina, but
this truck never came from the factory with air conditioning or an
AM/FM/CD stereo with aux input. The steering wheel, tilt column,
and gauges are borrowed from a later Dodge Dakota. And cruising is
far more comfortable with high-back bucket seats and a cup holder
center console borrowed from the younger Dodge.
The hood still has the classic butterfly look, but within it is
something much more modern-Dodge's fuel-injected 3.9-liter V6. We
like how the modern shiny plastics look against the classic patina
of the fenders. So we know you'll lift the hood at plenty of car
shows. But this hardy motor is also terrific for cruising. And as
you look underneath, you'll see the whole setup makes for a
pleasant drive. The Dakota donated its full chassis, including the
independent front end, rack & pinion power steering, and power
brakes with front discs. So it's a far smoother and more confident
ride. And the four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive even
makes for a good highway cruiser.
This notable classic Dodge has been given a unique patina restomod
treatment. It's quite an excellent total style for those who want
something distinct they can drive. Call now!
