1939 Mercury two-door coupe is a frame-off restoration is powered
by a 24-stud flathead V8 engine backed by a manual transmission.
Features include Offenhauser aluminum heads, an Offenhauser intake,
dual Stromberg 97 carburetors, a 12-volt electrical system upgrade,
and electronic ignition. Refinished in Forest green over a saddle
vinyl interior that was put through a complete refurbishment
process. During the frame-off restoration, the exterior was
refinished in Forest green. Features include chrome bumpers, a
chrome grille, black rubber running boards, all lights work and all
glass and weatherstripping are new. A set of 15-inch green steel
wheels with chrome dog dish Mercury hubcaps and trim rings is
wrapped in radial tires. The new interior and includes saddle
vinyl-covered front and rear bench seats. Features include tan
carpet with tan carpeted floor mats, a floor-mounted manual
transmission shifter, saddle vinyl door panels with manual windows,
manual steering and brakes, and a metallic gold steel dashboard. A
100-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure,
coolant temperature, and battery voltage are located ahead of
driver. The odometer reads 27K miles, but this vehicle's true
mileage is unknown. Power is provided by a 24-stud flathead V8
engine backed by a manual transmission. Engine upgrades include
Offenhauser aluminum heads with chrome acorn nuts, an Offenhauser
intake, and dual Stromberg 97 carburetors with chrome air cleaners.
Additional upgrades include electronic ignition, an aluminum
radiator, an electric fan, an electric fuel pump, Red's headers, a
chrome generator cover, and a polished aluminum coolant overflow
tank. During the frame-off restoration, the frame and suspension
components were refinished in matte black. The rebuilt suspension
consists of a solid front I-beam axle and a solid rear drive axle.
Braking is provided by manual drum brakes. Dual exhaust outlets
exit at the rear of the running boards.
