Vehicle Description
If you're a Mustang fan, then this Ford Mustang Roush 5XR is the
automotive love letter you've always wanted. After all, the Coyote
V8 was an awesome step forward that gave the pony car world-class
power while returning the iconic 5.0 designation. So the power
masters at Roush celebrated the debut of this powerhouse by making
a special edition, supercharged the motor, added a sleeker style,
and sharpened the handling.
2011 is the sweet-spot for the right Mustang fans. It was the final
evolution of the retro-cool styling. So it was familiar yet sleekly
aggressive. And of course, the people at Roush know how to turn it
up a notch. They added an aerodynamic body kit that includes a new
front fascia with more flair, a deep front chin spoiler, rocker
panel moldings, and a distinct three-piece spoiler that hugs the
rear deck end-to-end. It's such an aggressive style that the
factory-correct Race Red paint seems aptly named. There have been
portions resprayed to make sure it continues to have a vibrant
style, and so we even like how it forgoes the 5XR stripe package.
If an incognito kind of cool if less your thing, the stripes can
also be ordered for the car. But the power dome hood, blackout
grille, rear diffuser, large exhaust tips, and 20-inch Roush
polished alloys certainly already do a fine job of announcing a
distinct and powerful pony car.
The all-dark interior is both sporty and premium. This is an actual
mileage car, so it's no longer pristine... but that does not mean
abuse. It has the right look of a respected premium machine that
comes loaded with air conditioning, a power driver's seat, power
windows, power locks, dual airbags, side airbags, keyless
entry/alarm, tilt wheel, and a powerful/premium Shaker AM/FM/CD/XM
stereo. But more than just loaded, this generation gets its
performance feeling quite right. The three-spoke steering wheel is
a leather-wrapped unit with integrated controls for the hands-free
phone, stereo, and cruise control. Plus, this special coupe has
nice Roush performance atmosphere touches, like the special
white-faced gauges and illuminated door sill. Plus, the upgraded
shifter and added boost readout are there to get your enthusiast's
heart pumping faster even before you drive the first mile.
Because this car was built as a celebration of the new motor, the
engine bay has the kind of tidy style to be on full display. Even
the valve covers are painted red to match the inner walls. The
Coyote 5.0-liter fuel-injected V8 has received upgrades that
include a RoushCharger supercharger. They build this correctly with
the full supporting components like the cold air induction, intake
manifolds, intercooler, and radiator all upgraded, too. Roush also
gets into the computer and programs it to ideally run with these
power upgrades. It means you get a full power package rated at a
steady 525 horsepower and a whopping 465 lb-ft of torque. And this
six-speed transmission means you are in firm control over all of
this Mustang's added ponies. Plus, it's not just the motor that's
been beefed up. The full package comes with a suspension kit that
includes front struts, rear shocks, front & rear springs, and thick
front & rear sway bars. Add grippy Nitto tires and four-wheel power
disc brakes for a terrific total driver's package.
Currently on a rebuilt title, this comes complete with the owner's
manual. The 5XR was made to be quite special, in fact, there were
only 150 made (this is #19). So when you want supercar power and
supercar rarity, you know you need this awesome power pony. Call
