Vehicle Description
The 2014 Shelby Mustang GT500 has a huge 662hp supercharged V8 that
delivers a supercar-like 200 mph level performance. We'll take
Ford's word on that top speed because this example's nearly
impossibly low mileage means we doubt it has ever turned its tires
in full fury. Instead, this is the well-documented and loaded
drop-top that has been so nicely preserved by its previous two
owners that it will make your garage feel like a showroom the
moment it gets parked.
One of the big reasons this is such a great icon (besides the
motor) is that the color combo is arguably the best around. The
Oxford White with blue racing stripes instantly reminds us of the
color theme of the first Shelby Mustangs, and so this one is
instantly connected with nearly a half-century of history. And
since the sub-3500 mile odometer reminds us this one is barely
broken-in, you still have a showroom-level shine. There's even
quite a cool-looking and well-coordinated dark side to this car.
The wide grilles, even wider front lip, heat extractor hood,
blackout rear panel, and rear diffuser make this look mean no
matter if you're coming or going. And those dark SVT wheels that
also feature an aggressive 19/20-inch front/rear stagger add to
this attitude. So we love to see the back convertible top that
seems to unite all this dark aggression while keeping a crisp and
clean style.
As terrific as this looks with the top in place, it gets even
better when you power it down. The black leather interior continues
the dark side fun started on the exterior, and the blue racing
stripes tie the full package together for a thoughtful presentation
inside and out. There are no scuffs on the door sills, no scratches
in the dash, and the carpets still look factory fresh - it is truly
going for a time capsule feeling. GT500s were the top-dog pony
cars, and so they made sure these were luxurious, too. This means a
power driver's seat, power windows, power locks, leather-wrapped
steering wheel, keyless entry/alarm, dual front airbags, side
airbags, anti-lock brakes, and cruise control. An expensive but
worthwhile option was the touchscreen infotainment that controls
the Bluetooth, satellite navigation, and premium Shaker AM/FM/CD/XM
stereo. And while the mileage is exceptionally low, you'll love to
take this out for a drop-top drive. After all, you have dual-zone
climate controls and heated sets to dial in the individual ideal
temperature
The beast that lives under the hood is the 32-valve 5.8-liter DOHC
supercharged V8. Rated at 662 horsepower and 631 pounds of torque,
this is a true supercar. The special engine was even updated in
2014 for better all-around performance - another one of those
details that collectors love. While this makes it an even better
track machine, you can really tell from the exceptional condition
that this GT500 has never turned a wheel in anger. But if you ever
do, the full SVT suspension upgrades (you can still see the factory
stickers all over the components!) are there to give you the best
high-speed performance. Plus, the six-speed manual transmission
puts you in the center of the action, and there's a giant
four-wheel disc brake package with Brembo fronts to give you plenty
of stopping power.
The sale comes complete with some nice paperwork, like the original
window sticker and the owner's manual packet. This is such a stock
and preserved collector car that it's even believed to be on its
original tires. This is the kind of powerful machine that will
cause a stir at classic car auctions in 20 years. So this near
showroom-fresh future classic is the supercar you enjoy today and
appreciate even more tomorrow. If you're ready for a true Mustang
of distinction, call today!
