Vehicle Description
A 1968 Chevrolet Camaro convertible is always going to have plenty
of attraction. But when you have a distinct paint theme, numbers
matching V8, and cool features - including the RS front end - it
really makes for an even more desirable drop-top.
The Royal blue paint is obviously an upgrade later in life simply
because they couldn't deliver a blue with such a deep tone from the
factory. So it makes this classic instantly memorable. You will
find signs of it being enjoyed, because after all, that's the heart
of what this car is all about. The metallic glow this radiates in
the sunshine combines with the bright chrome bumpers to look
terrific on any sunny Sunday drive. This deep color is tastefully
contrasted by the white convertible roof, and the white D91 front
stripe coordinates to make for a thoughtful and sporty style. After
all, we love a Camaro with a powerful look, and this one delivers
with details like the cowl hood, deep chin spoiler, 15-inch Rally
wheels, and full-width rear spoiler. And of course, the Rally
Sport's hidden headlight front end is an icon all on its own (it's
currently manually operated.) We're told this was born a real-deal
RS car, but there currently is no build sheet or other verifying
documentation.
The interior was upgraded to the iconic Houndstooth cloth. So when
you take the top down, there's a nice look against the exterior
stripe, and it's always nice to have cloth inserts in the
upholstery of any convertible. This is a driver-rented setup that
gives you nice features like a wood-rimmed sports steering wheel, a
horseshoe shifter, auxiliary readouts in the center console, and a
separate oil pressure gauge. So you should see this as a true
cruiser. Some people may want to update details like brightening up
the upholstery or re-dye the carpeting, but we already like the
level of comfort this has. You have nice upgrades for modern
cruising like an integrated cup holder, fog lights, and an upgraded
Infinity stereo that includes Bluetooth.
Under the hood is the numbers-matching 327 cubic-inch V8. It's tidy
and nicely detailed where you can see the right updated components,
like an MSD distributor, Edelbrock finned valve covers, and a
matching air grabber. It makes for a solid driving package from day
one. So you may want to give it a tune-up/upgrade to unlock some
extra power from the small block or restore the air conditioning,
but there's already a ton of appeal in having the original block
that's also ready to hit the road. After all, it's cruiser ready
with power steering, power brakes, a three-speed automatic
transmission, and wide Cooper Cobras tires.
This is the sleek-looking icon with a terrific convertible cruiser
style and a nice opportunity for your personal touch. So don't miss
