interior is upholstered in red leatherette and is equipped with a
VDM steering wheel, Sapphire I Radio, and Blaupunkt speakers with

In accordance with the records on file, this 356 Coupe has been in
Southern California since 1960. Records verified through the
presence of the original Service Booklet and registration dating
back to 1963. The first owner, James Weishuhn, took delivery of the
vehicle on May 18, 1960, and it was sold by Competition Motors in
Hollywood, California. The Warranty Policy page states that the
book belongs to Chassis No. 111177 and lists No. 602364 as the
matching engine number. Only the first two services, at 20 and 320
miles, were recorded in the booklet. Original registration cards
tracks the possession from the first owner to Mr. McNeil in 1963
and then to Mr. Leonard in 1964. By 2011, the 356 was purchased by
Mr. Weissman and under his ownership, he began the process of
making repairs and upgrades as necessary. On January 7, 2011, GS
Eurowerk1 was commissioned to replace all fuel lines, repair the
braking system, tune the engine, service transmission, detail the
engine compartment, and complete a bare metal repaint. After the
vehicle was repainted Mr. Weissman elected to replace seals, trim,
and re-chrome the brightwork as necessary. Subsequently, the
undercarriage and front trunk areas were stripped, recoated, and
new weather seals were installed.
By 2014, ownership was transferred to the current owner who has
maintained the vehicle for the past 9 years and has spent over
$31,000 in receipts. On July 11, 2014, at 79,368 miles, Mike's
Foreign Sports, Inc. in Thousand Oaks, California performed an
engine rebuild. The engine was reassembled and new main bearings
and the piston and cylinders (Big Bore) were installed. The
connecting rods were rebuilt, reground camshaft with factory
lifters, and the cylinder heads were rebuilt with new pushrod
tubes. The dwell, timing, linkage, and carburetors were synched and
adjusted. Since the engine overhaul was completed the 356 has
received routine maintenance every 3,000 miles. On April 18, 2022,
the carburetors were disassembled and rebuilt with new carb kits
and tuned. Most recently, at European Collectibles, the 356 has
been fully serviced and detailed.
Mechanically powered by its matching 1600cc Normal flat-four engine
producing 60hp that runs very well paired to its matching 741
manual 4-speed transmission with a four-wheel drum braking system.

Authenticity, spare wheel, jack, and history going back to 1963. An

a very desirable color combination.
