Vehicle Description
2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Convertible
Want an affordable way to get your hands on a top-notch super car
which has serious collector pedigree and can handily smoke pretty
much anything on the road? Then step right up and consider this
well cared for 2003 first year generation 3 edition Dodge Viper. 10
Cylinders power this year added 50hp mill, and a decrease in
overall weight from the original version. This car is definitely a
neck snapper. If you're looking for the best version of one of the
best super cars ever built, this Viper is your ticket!
A paltry 2,651 actual original miles shows it's a toy which was
used and enjoyed...sparingly, then put away until the next play
date. This car collector consignor never raced it, or tracked it,
never smoked in, never beat and always garage kept it. Bathed in
Viper Red, snappy 18 and 19-inch wheels, original factory tires,
and a black convertible, it seems like all the boxes are double
checked to me, so get on it kids!
Exterior
Inspired by Pete Brock's classic Shelby Cobra Daytona coupe and
sporting one of the most unique shapes ever put on American roads,
this 2003 Viper looks fantastic from every angle. A Viper Red
exterior, plunked on a racing style chassis, and aluminum space
frame. Plenty of carbon fiber can be eyed throughout obtaining the
decrease in weight. An updated nose with a 4 section grille, open
aero inset headlights, and side ports in the aft sections of the
front quarters make it very racy looking. A bit of length added,
and plenty of snarling Viper badges adorn the exterior of this car
along with the bulbous rear an inset exhaust outlet on the rockers
and on the rear roll pan the beginnings of an early splitter.
Chromed alloy wheels are 18-inches in front, and 19 in back wrapped
in 275/35ZR18's in front and 345/30ZR19's on back. All factory
original rubber. I feel like I'm sneaking a view of the center
foldout, holding the magazine horizontally and staring in awe, but
I digress, I read that magazine for the articles!
Interior
Like the cars which inspired it, this Viper features a fresh black
interior that places an emphasis on simplicity and performance
above all else. The leather and suede bucket seats are so
comfortable that Dodge actually licensed their design as an office
chair. Black satin roll bars are arching above the seat headrests,
and just behind a clean black tonneau covers the top which neatly
folds behind the seats. The door panels, while simple, feature both
satin finished door handles and a vertical bar pull. In front of
the seats, a large dash holds clear white-face gauges, and an
AM/FM/6-CD player that blasts your favorites through a 7 speaker
310 watt sound system. To the driver's right is a vertical lineup
of smaller gauges to keep track of the vitals at all times. Between
the seats, a stitched shifter placed ergonomically into a black
wide console, also houses change storage and a flip up power
outlet. Below the seats, white embroidered Viper logo floor mats
protect like-new carpet. Connecting the driver to the road is a
nice set of factory aluminum foot pedals which hang below an
exclusive leather wrapped and stitched steering wheel. Cold air
conditioning, power steering, power windows, power locks, and power
mirrors give you a touch of creature comforts in this racer. Also,
adjustable pedals are functioning to fit any driver, and the driver
and passenger are protected by front air bags. A fully finished
trunk is all business with a 'compact' spare tire and jack, and
plenty of black carpeting.
Drivetrain
An illuminated power button beckons the driver to push it, and in
doing so brings to life an 8.3 liter SFI V-10 engine. The massive
engine is in pristine condition, is fed by EFI, and we notea dual
intake directly scooping up air from the front of the engine bay.
Bolted on to the back is a 6-speed T56 manual transmission. To spin
the rear tires a 3.07 rear axle is installed. It is said that this
combination enables this car to travel at speeds up to 200mph. I
refused to try this during the test drive and I'll use the excuse
of LOW MILES. Like I stated, I read that magazine for the articles
and I'm sticking to that!
Undercarriage
Bringing that racing mass to a halt are power ABS 4 piston per
caliper Brembo discs grabbing on to 14" rotors. A flat underbody
pan is seen under the clean bottom of this car, and this provides
much needed stability as well as improved aerodynamics at high
speed. Independent coil sprung suspension provides the ride and
handling to beat the band.
Drive-Ability
I kept it to a minimum as we try to do with all low original
mileage cars, so it was a quick startup and 1 lap around the track.
All was working just fine.
This low low mileage per year Viper is as stated a well kept toy.
It is now ready to change hands, so take a close look, and see if
it reaches out and bites your inner need for speed, and style.
Venom is addictive.
