Vehicle Description
This 1965 Pontiac GTO convertible tribute has plenty of V8 power,
an aggressive style, and a cool red-on-red appearance. It's the
kind of drop-top that you're going to want to take for a drive, and
upgrades like the overdrive transmission tell you it truly has that
kind of spirit that loves to hit the road.
Pontiac gave the Tempest the crisp look of a well-defined muscle
machine, and so it makes for a good base to create a proper GTO
tribute. The new-for-1965 vertical stack headlights, intricate tail
panel, and wraparound chrome bumpers all bring together the kind of
car that makes people impressed with this muscle machine. It's all
wrapped around an aggressive and factory-correct Montero Red. There
are even color-matched steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps for a
coordinated and powerful style. So it has a street machine vibe,
and that's why we also like how the overall impression is a car
that you'll never be afraid to take out whenever the mood strikes
you. Plus, people will really notice everything from the correct
hood scoop to the badging gives this the proper GTO feel. And of
course, the rumbling dual exhaust is what we all expect to
hear.
The creamy white convertible top has a nice look and fit, but for
true distinction, you'll want to power it down. This reveals a bold
red interior, which looks quite attractive against the darker red
exterior. It's the kind of clean and vibrant package that's perfect
for a car that loves to go for a long cruise and hit all the hot
spots along the way. It's quite vintage in the details, right down
to the working vacuum gauge on the center console and the correct
Pontiac upholstery with arrowhead emblems in the seatbacks. But
there are also the right upgrades for a true driver's drop-top.
This includes a B&M shifter, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and
a tilt column that gives you a good view of the full gauges.
Pontiac's 400 cubic-inch V8 was part of the first-gen GTO, but not
yet in 1965, and so having this upgrade is already quite a nice
benefit for this tribute. It's quite attractive thanks to the
turquoise block, matching valve covers, and bright air grabber. It
even has nice additions like an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor,
an HEI distributor, and a sweet-sounding dual exhaust. It's a
strong driver, and the upgrade to a four-speed automatic
transmission with overdrive really lets this extend its cruising
legs. And there's also power steering, power brakes, and front
discs for a quality feeling out on the road.
The sale comes complete with maintenance recipes and Pontiac
Historic Services (PHS) documentation. This is the cool GTO tribute
that has the cruising attitude you want. So you don't want to let
this drop-top slip away. Call today!!!
