Vehicle Description
The 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air set a new standard that became the first
of the Tri-Five Chevys. So it's great to find a hardtop with a
timeless color combo, classic V8 power, and an attractive overall
presentation. And there's even a bit of a story to go with this
two-tone coupe.
The restoration on this Bel Air was about 20 years ago, and it's
only believed to have gone about 8,300 miles since then. The reason
why the history can stretch back that far is that the consignor's
father has cherished the car the whole time. This impression of
responsible use and upkeep is also reflected in the straight body
panels, tight gaps, clean glass, good rubber, and nice chrome on
bumpers and trim. Plus, the red and white two-tone continues to
have a nice gloss to showcase the ultra-desirable hardtop body. And
while you will appreciate this one for its history, it also makes
sure it's still a true cruiser that takes you to the car shows and
ice cream runs. And so you'll see the right newer investments
throughout, including a newer set of BF Goodrich T/As on the
classic Cragar SS polished wheels - including the spare.
One of the best reasons to have a hardtop is so that you can roll
down all the side glass to let people get a better look at the
interior. And this one really knows how to do it right. The
two-tone continues inside with a custom and comfy button-top red
upholstery with cool streaks of white. The door panels, carpeting,
dash, and headliner are all red or white for a thoughtful total
presentation. This loves to be a proper classic cruiser, and so the
bright dash panel and the stylized steering wheel can transport
your senses to 1955. And the little details here also make the
difference, like the recently replaced speedo cluster and
well-integrated Stewart Warner readouts for driving essentials like
the battery and oil pressure.
What we like about this car is that it likes to be a custom cruiser
without going over-the-top, and that includes the engine bay. This
VC-code Bel Air has a 265 cubic-inch V8 looking quite stock in the
engine bay. Where you'll see the upgrades are in the places that
make this a better cruiser. This includes the Optima red top
battery, Flame Thrower coil, a newer master cylinder/booster, an
alternator, and a full fuel system. There are even new mounts for
the motor and transmission. So you can really understand how this
is meant to be a strong and smooth runner. And a true cruiser needs
to feel good out on the road. That's why there are easy driving
features like a Powerglide automatic transmission, power brakes,
front discs, and a nice grip from the new tires.
The sale comes complete with nice bonuses like the stock hubcaps
and a box full of extra components. There is something quite
alluring about an icon that has been well-kept to remain a true
cruiser. Call today!!!
