Vehicle Description
This 1967 Chevrolet El Camino gives you the right distinct style
outside and a 454 V8 big block under the hood. It makes for a
custom classic that's fun to hit the blacktop whenever the mood
strikes you.
The dark gray is a modern upgrade that does a good job of being
intimidatingly dark while still giving a nice glow. And those ghost
flames in a lighter shade of gray are a nice way to signal a hot
street machine. The finish isn't perfect, but it strikes the right
balance of a distinct look and a car you can take out all weekend
without getting nervous about using the truck bed for a Lowe's run.
Plus, the SS-style hood trim, upgraded sports mirrors, tinted
windows, and side exhaust tips add a dose of muscle car cruiser
aggression. And the Rally wheels look particularly nice with bright
trim, raised white letter tires, and an attractive stance.
The black interior is a nice color against the dark gray exterior.
It remains largely stock inside, with the vinyl bench seat, ribbed
door panels, and smooth dash pad all looking clean. The idea is to
be a driver's classic, so it's not fancy but comfortable. The
factory three-spoke steering wheel gives you a commanding view of
the old-school speedometer that's about as long as the horizon. And
the upgraded auxiliary gauge trio under the dash lets you know
there is something special under the hood.
The engine bay has nice touches with smooth inner fenders, newer
fundamentals (including hoses and wiring,) polished valve covers,
and a big shining grabber. This was the dawn of the big block
dominance era at Chevy, but even the El Caminos and Chevelles
didn't have anything as large as the 454 cubic-inch V8 under this
hood. It has been upgraded further with an Edelbrock four-barrel
carburetor, an Edelbrock aluminum intake, and Hedman headers that
add power while contributing to the rumble of the dual exhaust and
Flowmaster mufflers. It's a strong runner and has the right
features to be a fine cruiser. The three-speed automatic
transmission, power steering, power brakes, and front discs all
mean that this powerful big block Chevy that's also nice to
cruise.
This El Camino has a distinct style and an awesome big block under
the hood. Plus, there's a lot of potential to restore and upgrade
