This 1970 Mustang Mach is one of only 364 examples of a 428 Cobra Jet “Non-Ram Air” model produced for the 1970 model year. The car was built in September of 1969 and delivered to Zionsville, Indiana where it was sold by Pearson Ford. This car was with enjoyed by its previous owner for the last fifteen years. Power comes from its original 428ci Cobra Jet Ram Air V8 engine paired with its original C-6 automatic transmission, and the car is finished in Calypso Coral paint with a black interior.
Additional equipment includes the optional 3.00:1 Tractional-Lok rear-end, power front disc brakes, replacement 15″ Magnum wheels, power steering, black hood stripe, rear deck spoiler, rear slats and chin spoiler (dealer installed), AM radio, and tachometer packages. This magnificent Mach 1 is now offered in Connecticut with records, a Deluxe Marti Report, an original window sticker, and a clean Kentucky title.
Mach 1 equipment included grille-mounted fog lights, functional ram-air scoop, rear deckspoiler, chin spoiler and rear slats. The rockers feature the one year only Mach 1 finned aluminum panels. The rear deck features the Mach 1 letters. This example is finished in its factory Calypso with performance black hood stripes featuring integrated 428 letters. Replacement magnum 15” wheels are wrapped in BF Goodrich white-letter tires, and a steel rimmed mounted spare and lug wrench are stored in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering as well as front disc and rear drum brakes.
Inside, the Mach 1 Interior Décor Group adds Comfort weave inserts on the black hi-back vinyl buckets and simulated wood-grain appliques on the door panels, center console, and dash. The automatic shifter is located in the center console.
Instrumentation includes an 8k-rpm tachometer and 140-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Under-dashboard courtesy lights and illumination in the glovebox are all standard equipment. The five-digit odometer shows just under 30k miles.
