Superformance MKIII SP02152 is a brilliant "race red" roadster that
was designed to make high octane memories with a friend. This MKIII
features reliable V8 power, traditional styling elements and a rare
set of double roll bars to create a unique driving experience.
The bright red car has a pair of bold white stripes, twin stainless
steel roll bars, ceramic-coated headers, polished expansion tank
and stainless-steel side pipes. It rides on 15" Halibrand-style
wheels shod with new high performance tires.
Built by Olthoff Racing, the Ford Racing 408 cid stroker small
block motor has Brodix aluminum heads that were CNC'd, Cobra air
cleaner, a hydraulic roller cam and 10-1 compression. Under the
stylish Cobra valve covers, the Ford V8 connects to a robust
5-speed TKO 600 manual transmission with a Jordan shifter to send
all the power to a limited-slip IRS differential housing the
gears.
This Superformance MKIII has Power Disc 4 Piston Wilwood Brakes and
Bilstein coil-over shocks that maxmize the car's handling. The
matching passenger stainless steel rollbar is frame-anchored for
safety.
SP02152 has a leather wrapped steering wheel, along with period
correct gauges in the period correct dash layout. The doors are
secured by original style carriage latches. All openings, such as
engine bay, trunk, and cockpit are wrapped around the steel
subframe for increased strength and support. The interior is
swathed in black leather with special touches like a 5-point driver
side seatbelt, Superformance floor mats and a fire
extinguisher.
The Superformance MKIII is a meticulously engineered and crafted
reproduction of the original, built under license from Carroll
Shelby Licensing Inc. No expense was spared in recreating the
legendary car, ensuring an authentic sports car experience.
