Genuine SS-396 4-speed car! Wait, it gets better... it's a factory
Marina Blue car with Ivory interior too! Documented right in the
vin and on the original cowl tag.
EXTERIOR: It's striking! The body is arrow straight and fits
square. No rust or damage. Repainted its original Marina Blue
color. It's laid out evenly and the clear coat is polished like
glass. All the trim and chrome are shiny and straight. New
windshield. The weatherstrips and seals were replaced. The power
white top is in very good shape. It rolls on BFG radial redline
tires and original mag style hubcaps.
INTERIOR: Not only is the factory white interior pretty, but it
stays much cooler in the hot summer sun too. This one's decked out
with some nice factory options. It has gauges in the dash and the
knee knocker tachometer. The bucket seats have a console in between
them. That console has a 4-speed with the correct reverse lockout
shifter. There is also a factory clock rebuilt with quartz
movement. There is a retro stereo in the factory hole with upgraded
speakers in the dash. Overall, the upholstery, door panels, dash
pad, dash trim is all very nice. Carpets are really good and has
new Super Sport floormats. It also has optional seatbelts front and
back.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Correct casting code 396-325 hp motor.
Completely stock appearances- Stock manifolds, valve covers,
brackets etc. It features power steering and brakes; the brake
booster is cadmium plated. Correct radiator, cap, shroud and hose
clamps. Correct spring clamp battery cables. Squirters are hooked
up, it has hood insulation and an underhood lamp.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Solid original metal has been spatter painted.
Under the trunk lid and jamb are nicely painted. Mat, well liner
and weatherstrip were replaced. It has a painted rim with a redline
tire for a spare and a jack assembly.
UNDERSIDE: It appears to be in great shape. The components look
proper. The front end steering and suspension look good. New gas
shocks in back. Factory type dual exhaust system. The brakes have
been serviced; e-brake assembly is hooked up. Fuel tank was
replaced. Looking up at the motor it's clean, starter and fuel pump
are clean. It has the correct Muncie 4-speed trans. In back is a 12
bolt rear end with 3.73 posi gears. Overall, the original floors,
braces and rockers look solid.
Our shop inspected the car, and we spent $1,530 on service. Fixed
the horn, reverse lights, brake lights. Serviced the brakes,
replaced the mirror and power steering pump.
This is the perfect investment to get in and use. Top down,
shifting those gears and turning some heads sounds like a great
time!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
