rare 1959 MG A is a two owner and has been in the same family for
over 45 years! The car sat in a garage for most of that time,
undriven, and the seller says the low mileage is actual, but it is
not documented on the title.
This MG A has had a fresh restoration with documentation that comes
with the car. The restoration included: coolant flush, new hoses,
new motor mounts, rebuilt head, fuel pump, new radiator, timing
chain and gear, rebuilt carburetors, new water pump, new brakes,
new heater valve, thermostat, spark plug wires, distributor cap and
rotor, condenser, new slave cylinder, fuel filter, tie rod ends,
rewire license plate light, new tires, alignment, valve cover
gasket, oil change with filter, stainless oil hose, oil filter
housing seal, belts, hose clamps, radiator cap, Lucas headlights,
flasher, starter rebuild, new gas cap, new mirror, new starter
switch, starter cable, starter knob, and more. The body was
disassembled for paint with new wind lace installed as well.
The wire wheels were blasted and powder coated in a silver with a
little bit of metallic, so they dance in the sunlight and are
easier to clean than just painted wheels. The floorboards had
Dynomat installed and new upholstery. The top is new and the car
comes with the original (unrestored) side curtains.
In 1959, only 6,803 MG As were built in total and 6,474 were left
hand drive, making this a rare find. The color combination is
fantastic with the bright red exterior matched with a beige soft
convertible top and beige interior. These cars are a ton of fun and
are real attention grabbers when they zip past you on the road. The
dual carburetor 1600 CC 4-cylinder is mated to a 4-speed manual
which gives this light 2-seater plenty of get up and go! Cruise on
weekends, hit local car shows, or just add it to your collection
and enjoy the sporty stylish lines of this 59 MG!
