Marti Report and Marti Statistics Report You are looking at one of
the rarest Mustangs to ever come out of Dearborn Michigan. 1968 was
the first time Ford ever stuffed the iconic 428 Cobra Jet into a
Mustang. These cars were deemed 1968 Mustangs because the R Code
production cars didn't start until April of 1968. They were very
limited in production, especially the coupes with only 221 being
produced. This R code coupe was built on May 27th, 1968 and sent to
Crouse Ford Sales in Taneytown Maryland. The car recently went
through a nut and bolt restoration and was owned for 40 years by
the previous owner. The car has its original owners manual showing
the first purchasers name and address and date it was purchased.
It's a factory Candy Apple red with red interior 4 speed 4.30
traction-lok rear axle, making it a very special and rare example.
Now, about the car. This is one of the nicest running and driving
Mustangs I've ever had and that's saying a lot. The car fires right
up, has great throttle response, great brakes, and more power than
needed. The car has been through a nut and bolt restoration and it
shows. The car is simply beautiful. The car has all of its original
VIN stamps and VIN tags. A Marti report verifying the car and a
statistics report showing exactly how rare of a car this is. This
is a truly a car that will stand tall in any collection. So lets
breakdown this car by area. Engine: Original Numbers Matching 428
