Vehicle Description
The 1967 Volkswagen Beetle is already highly sought-after thanks to
some unique features only for this year. So to find a clean and
well-presented example that was in the hands of a Beetle restorer
and fan means this is one for the true Bug enthusiasts.
We're told the consignor purchased this VW a few years ago from an
Arizona gentleman known for restoring Beetles. And we don't really
have to tell you that it has a desirable history because the paint
instantly demonstrates. There's a quality respray of what appears
to be 1967's Savannah Beige. It shows great shine and smooth
coverage of the clean body, and the details look correct right down
to the smooth shining wheel covers. So this one draws plenty of
attention in the sunlight, and that's what you want on a '67. These
had special single-year features. Up front, it was the updated
headlights that still had the front vents, and in the rear, the
decklid was special for this one year only. In fact, this one has
been well-maintained and correct, right down to the bright chrome
bumpers with overriders.
While the Beetle is known for being simple to fix and maintain,
it's also a treat to see that someone made a proper investment in
restoring the interior. The clean look to the vinyl upholstery,
door panels, carpeting, and headliner make for a vintage and
inviting style. You have the right 1967-specific elements, like the
rubberized dash knobs and the knob-less ashtray. We even like how
the steering wheel is quite stock to let you feel the generation
that came before you. But one piece that's an obvious upgrade is
the radio. The AM/FM stereo with USB and Bluetooth means this
classic delivers proper modern driving music.
The engine bay looks just as clean and correct as the rest of the
car. But if you look a little closer, you'll see a few key
upgrades. The main one is that this is the 1600cc motor - a
larger/later powerhouse. It was the largest offered in the series,
and while that won't make this a sports car, you weren't looking at
a VW for that. Instead, you'll just appreciate rowing through the
four-speed and enjoying the peppy attitude delivered with an
air-cooled hum.
We love the 1967 Beetle for its uniqueness, and this one lets you
showcase it with pride. Call today!!!
