The fourth generation Thunderbird was produced by Ford from 1964
thru 1966. It was more luxurious than previous models and marketed
by Ford as a 'personal luxury' model. This partially restored
(2016) 1965 Thunderbird convertible is an excellent example of this
classic T'bird. Based on the trim tag, the Thunderbird was
originally finished in Silver Mink, but as part of the restoration
process the convertible received a professional respray of Poppy
Red that is in excellent condition. A white convertible top is
power-assisted and the classic Thunderbird lines are complimented
by plenty of '60's chrome. Eldorado white-wall radial tires are
mounted on 15" factory steel wheels with original spinner hubcaps
and tucked behind rear fender skirts. The restored White vinyl
interior is also in excellent condition. This Thunderbird is nicely
equipped with air conditioning, power tinted windows, AM/FM radio,
full gauge package and factory 'Swing-Away' steering wheel assembly
that easily moves 10" to the right for ease of entry and exit.
Horsepower is furnished by a rebuilt 390ci Thunderbird Special V-8
engine that outputs 315hp w/single 4-barrel carburetor, 10.5:1
compression and dual exhaust. The big FE motor runs superbly and is
backed by Ford's classic 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic
transmission and factory differential that was fitted with 3.25:1
factory gearing. Power steering and power disc/drum brakes were
included as standard equipment. There are very few of these classic
Thunderbirds around for the serious Blue Oval enthusiast - far
fewer in this outstanding condition. This Thunderbird belongs in
your collection. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
