Vehicle Description
This 1966 Chevrolet C10 Stepside has the mean matte black style to
be a cool rat rod level pickup. There's even a nice V8 under the
hood for some proper attitude. But as you look over the full
package, you can also see a level of detail that shows this gives
you the right touches of comfort to let you know there's more than
just the roughneck impression.
Matte black is always fun. It sets the tone for an old-school kind
of build where we instantly expect some extra attitude. This
delivers with custom pieces like the sporty forward-leaning stance,
custom bow tie tailgate, and hand-laid pinstriping that accents the
hood and rear fenders. It's a true hot rod style in the grand rat
rod tradition. So if you're looking for a candy-coated pickup, this
is not it (and we really bet you like it that way.) But the
intimidation doesn't take away from the nice classic style. This
generation C10 is attractive for beautiful stepside fenders, a
touch of an hourglass-like figure in the waistline, and real wood
in the truck bed. You still get all of that here, but only with a
sense of defiance that's absolutely cool.
While the exterior wants to maximize its attitude, the interior has
made some significant investments in comfort. After all, some rat
rods have a lawn chair for seating, but this has a modern TMI
upgrade. That means supple leather, well-bolstered contouring, and
sporty red stitching. There are more comfort features such as a
removable cup holder armrest and an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo with
USB input and Bluetooth. There's even a proper cruiser attitude
with the upgraded wood-rimmed sports steering wheel mounted on a
tilt column. And the auxiliary gauge trio will keep you better
informed about what's happening in the engine bay.
Under the hood is a tidy small block upgrade. It's a 350 cubic-inch
V8 that now inhales deeply with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor
and Holley Street dominator intake. It's also sustained by the
right pieces, like a new wiring harness and an aluminum radiator.
And we really like the way the Flowmaster muffler on the dual
exhaust gives you a nice V8 tune that's easy to enjoy. So it's the
right kind of strong and supported powerhouse that will get you
thinking about cruising all weekend. That's why it also comes with
great driving features, like power steering, power brakes, a
three-speed automatic transmission, and the C10's desirable
trailing arm rear suspension.
