Vehicle Description
Here's the sweet spot in Dodge Vipers. This 1998 RT-10 roadster is
the desirable second generation, with updates in poise and power.
But it doesn't lose the hardcore reputation that made these
wind-in-your-hair supercars the ultimate machine for true power
drivers. Now look at the low mileage and exceptional condition, and
you realize that this is the ultimate collectible, too.
These early Vipers are impressive. You could tell they were
inspired by the great driver's power cars, like the Shelby Cobra,
but now that a quarter-century has passed, they have become icons
all on their own. The long front end has an aggressive style like
the namesake snake, and the size also gives extra time for all the
curves to form. Plus, the large air inlets that channel through the
doors, integrated flying buttress roll hoop, and two large exhaust
tips taking center stage at the rear are all how this conveys a
very speedy style. The car's 25-year mark is also important for
this car because it also means it now begins to qualify for vintage
registration in many states that offer it. And this example
certainly earns classic car status. It's a well-kept roadster that
has barely averaged over 1k miles annually. So the factory-applied
Viper Red paint still has a slippery smooth style that shows off
all the best curves. And everything from the silver racing stripes
to the upgraded tinted taillights adds the right touch of
distinction.
The interior is just as impressively preserved as the exterior, but
your first thought when you look inside is likely all about the
equipment for a pure speed machine. The black leather bucket seats
keep you planted behind the wheel, and there's no room for sliding
around in an interior that completely envelopes the driver. Your
arm fits so that your favorite resting spot is right on top of the
gear stick. A full gauge package is at eye level, and the
black-on-white background readouts make the info crisp and clean.
The second-gen is often the more desirable one to have because it
made room for the right kind of features that were expected on an
expensive car like this. It includes power windows, power locks,
keyless entry, dual airbags, a tilt steering column, and the
correct AM/FM/CD stereo. And since it's so easy to remove the
fabric top, it's especially nice to have air conditioning to add a
cool breeze to whatever wind is flowing through the inside.
Tilt the large hood forward, and there's no mistaking the Viper's
gorgeous red cast aluminum intake manifold and valve covers on this
low mileage example. This one is quite desirable because the power
in the 8.0-liter V10 jumped to 450 hp in the 1998 RT-10, which was
the top of the series. You get complete control of this via
six-speed manual transmission that then sends the power to a beefy
rear end. This is backed up by a fully independent suspension,
large four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, and super-sticky
Michelin Pilot tires.
This is the well-respected, well-maintained, and well-preserved
Viper that you always hoped was out there. It just brings together
the right features for added fun and collectability - all in a
bright and aggressive package. Call today!!!
