Vehicle Description
This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette convertible keeps the iconic C2
silhouette, but it has a modern LS based engine lurking within. So
the sleek modern paint, upgraded A/C interior, overdrive
transmission, and other custom details love to help announce this
Sting Ray is a unique and loaded restomod.
This Corvette loves to give hints at the modern car that lies
beneath the surface. It begins with the paint. The color feels like
a combination of Sunset Orange and Atomic Orange - both were
popular on the C6 Corvette (a hint at what's under the hood.) It
has the radiant style of a quality professional application with
plenty of metallic. So the finish and the rear bumper give the kind
of shine that's ideal for a sunshine-friendly convertible. Notice
that we didn't mention the front bumper, because it has been
deleted to give this Sting Ray an even cleaner front end that looks
like it wants to inhale the lesser cars ahead. More of the
aggression comes with the well-coordinated dark side that
highlights some of the sportiest pieces, like the big block hood,
upgraded 15-inch wheels, and the side pipes. Even the folding roof
goes with this package (a hardtop frame-only can also be made
available for purchase if so desired.)
As good as this looks with the coordinating top in place, it gets
even better when you take it down. Burnt orange and black both are
used for the custom interior, and so this convertible has a
harmonious appearance inside and out. This has a clean look of a
driver-ready car, and you even have nice features like an AM/FM
radio and cold-blowing air conditioning. Like a proper Corvette,
this is built around you. So you have classic driver-oriented
pieces like bucket seats and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. These
are joined by nice upgrades like a B&M ratchet shifter and a
full set of AutoMeter Sport-Comp gauges.
Under the hood is an awesome LS based Vortec 6.0L fuel-injected
iron block V8 upgrade. This motor makes a lot of sense in this
Sting Ray. The C2 was the building block for larger motor
Corvettes, but the next few generations would all end with
350ci/5.7-liter motors. The C6 Corvette reinvigorated the
displacement with the debut of the 6.0-liter V8. And this modern
powerhouse loves to make sure it can give a classic muscle car
growl when it wants thanks to Hooker Super Competition headers and
side pipes. But the engine upgrade was not just about creating a
pure power machine. The fuel-injected and computer-controlled motor
is quite versatile. So you can have a nice in-town cruiser that
even has a smooth-shifting 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission
with overdrive. And if you really want to unleash the beast, you
prod the accelerator for big power and rumble on demand. Front
discs and the fully independent sports suspension make for an
excellent all-around driver's classic.
This is the sharp-looking and sharp-driving C2 that has been
thoughtfully upgraded in all the best ways. Call today!!!
