NARRATIVE – 2006 JAGUAR XJ SV8 PORTFOLIO / Model Code X350 Priced at $78,900.00
My XJSV8L Portfolio’s odometer displays 87,972 as of January 1, 2023 [averaging 5,498 miles per year]. It is now being offered with an Owner’s Manual, two key fobs, a valet key, a Carfax report, various receipts and a clean Florida title.
- THIS…is an incredibly rare 2006 JAGUAR XJ SV8 PORTFOLIO Long Wheelbase, a lovely car that oozes class and sophistication. It was based on the 2004 Concept Eight, shown at the 2004 New York Auto Show. It’s the only year for this heralded body style and only 1 of 150 shipped to North America. Only 75 had this pearlescent Black Cherry finish, a rich and elegant color specific to the nameplate that would go on to grace only the most superlative of Jaguar models. The exclusive ultra-premium dark brown Conker leather interior [almost looks black] and matching original lambswool overmats are like-new. A custom fitted protective dash cover has been added. The dashboard, centre console, door trims and fold-down picnic trays have a matte-finish American Black Walnut colored wood trim finished by hand. The wood pattern was different in every car.
- In 2005, the very last Jaguar off the Browns Lane Assembly Line was an XJ Portfolio, known as XJ05. Today it’s a part of the Jaguar Heritage Trust fleet exhibits and considered one of the most significant, making it a very special car indeed.
- The Monroney/Window sticker pictured in the photo gallery shows the original MSRP of $115,780. A $450 SiriusXM satellite radio option [the only option] was installed by Royal Jaguar Tucson, the original dealership. See sticker for all other Standard Equipment.
- Power comes from a 4.2 Liter supercharged V8 rated at 400 HP with 399 lbs.-ft torque @3,500rpm. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 6 speed ZF automatic transmission allowing the fierce feline to leap from 0-60 mph in 5 seconds.
- Modifications – 2021 The fussy original CATS air suspension system was replaced by a coil spring suspension. The 20” Callisto alloy wheels were completely stripped and repolished. Supercharger dismantled and all rubber gaskets replaced. New rear brakes and brake fluid wash. Cabin & engine air filters, new wipers, and a high-pressure power steering hose replaced.
- Modifications – 2022 Four 20” Michelin Pilot Sport 4 255/35/ZR20 tires were purchased in March with 4 wheel alignment. A new spare tire was purchased in May, date coded 4921. All lug nuts were replaced in May. Front and rear shocks, tie rod assembly and bushings replaced.
- Flaws – Minor stone chips on front bumper. Minor scratches on LR passenger door. Headliner at rear window molding has slight droop but is held up nicely with tacks [$700 replacement credit will be applied to price].
- The Carfax history states 4 owners but the correct # is only 3. I had to re-register the car due to my divorce. Rear end damage was reported by a previous owner but did not require repaint. The selling dealer re-finished the rear decklid due to 3 spots of metal oxidation. $1100 was paid to Knauz Automotive, a certified Jaguar authorized aluminum repair center. No mileage discrepancies were noted.
- The car has no tobacco or unpleasant odors of any kind.
The Portfolio was the absolute epitome of luxury. It was as posh and as fast as a Jaguar could be. While production numbers were extremely limited, it was a tantalizing flagship and a car that was every inch developed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. The 145 cars bound for the USA were pre-ordered and sold in record time.
