Vehicle Description
This 1970 Ford Bronco "Raptor" received a comprehensive frame-off
restoration. Its body and metal were stripped to perform a body
work and paint job. This Bronco is powered by a freshly rebuilt
302ci engine mated to a BorgWarner T18 manual transmission and
dual-range transfer case, with a 3.5 ratio 9-inch rear end and
front Dana 44 differentials were refurbished as well. The engine
compartment is equipped with a Holley Sniper EFI 550-511 kit, a
Holley HyperSpark ignition system, polished aluminum headers,
aluminum valve covers, an aluminum radiator, an electric fan, a
starter, water pump and thermostat, along with a new clutch kit and
flywheel. The car's steering was built with a wood-rimmed steering
wheel, Ididit tilt column, Borgeson power steering box, 3-inch drop
pitman arm, new bushings and tie rods in the front suspension. Its
fuel system is equipped with a stainless-steel gas tank, EFI and
new fuel lines. The brake lines were replaced and are routed to
front discs and rear drums powered by a hydro vacuum system. The
instrument cluster is a modern Classic Instruments cluster, and
this "Raptor" features a Vintage Air climate control system, power
windows, push-to-start button and electrical kill switch. The front
bucket seats are finished in black leather with "Bronco"
embroidered on the backrest and 3-point seatbelts. The build
includes a 6-point roll cage with a rally-style spare tire carrier
on the back for off-roading. Exterior details include a Bestop
soft-top, body-color fiberglass flares, LED headlights, signaling
side mirrors, receiver hitch in the back and winch at front. It
rides on 15-inch wheels with 35x12.5-inch Maxxis Crawler LT tires
and has black bumpers. Front and rear overhauled axle housings
included in the build provide its stance and stability on the road,
and in combination with the wheel-arch flares give this build the
Ford Bronco "Raptor" appearance.
