Vehicle Description
This 1936 Ford Brewster town car is known as the Brewster Town
Cabriolet deVille and lived in New York throughout the mid 1940s.
Eventually the car made its way to San Francisco, CA, until 2005
when it was acquired by an owner in Oregon. The car was completely
dismantled and underwent a concours restoration until completion in
2016. Finished in its original color combination of Dark Burgundy
and black, this town car also retains its original Ford flathead V8
engine mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. Only the finest
materials were used, including premium smooth-grain black leather
hides and Wilton wool carpets for the driver's compartment and gray
wool broad cloth, highly polished mahogany wood trim and
nickel-plated metal trim for the passenger area. In July 2016 the
Brewster won First Place in its class at the Forest Grove Concours
in Oregon. In July 2017 it received First Place at the Summer Grand
Classic in Sequim, WA, and received a senior recognition badge from
the Classic Car Club of America. In 2018 the Brewster was acquired
by a collector in Washington and was moved to Arizona in 2020,
where it was shown at the Arizona Jet Center event. Included in the
sale are copies of the original delivery card, comprehensive
restoration receipts totaling over $170,000, an unmounted vintage
Jaeger clock and restoration photographs from before, during and
after the build.
