Vehicle Description
This 1968 American Motors AMX has been rotisserie restored. It is
powered by an AMC 390ci V8 engine with Holley fuel injection, an
Edelbrock Torker intake manifold, headers and a custom
stainless-steel X-crossover exhaust system. The engine is mated to
a 4-speed manual transmission. Stopping power is provided by
Wilwood front disc brakes and the factory power booster, with the
17-inch American Racing aluminum Magnum 500-style wheels stay true
to the AMX tradition. The factory traction links and twin-traction
Dana rear axle keep the power to the ground. It is finished in high
quality 2-stage metallic red paint with dual painted silver Go-Pak
stripes and a restored trunk spoiler. The undercarriage was painted
when the car was complete. The chrome and stainless steel are
fresh, the weatherstrips are soft and all the trim pieces are as
they should be. The doors fit properly, and the windows are
operational. The engine bay has been modified, with the battery
moved to the trunk and any unsightly brackets and holes smoothed,
welded and filled. The chrome valve covers and air cleaner accent
the clean, AMC blue engine and the aluminum high-capacity radiator.
The interior is finished in black with custom double-stitched
bucket seats, a custom 4-speed console, wood-rimmed steering wheel
and complete, modern instrumentation, including a GPS speedometer.
The 1969-style Hurst 4-speed shifter with a round shifter handle
was professionally rebuilt, and the Alpine stereo unit is equipped
with Bluetooth, USB and an AM/FM radio.
