For Sale: 1972 Oldsmobile Hurst in Hilton, New York

Vehicle Description

Great Lakes Classic Cars proudly introduces and offers this amazing 'Hurst Olds' You Won't Find a Newer, Cleaner, or Nicer Hurst / Olds Anywhere... Excellent Investment Opportunity! Rare 1 of Only 130 produced and this is a nut and bolt restored in 2010 and awarded Highest Honors as an accomplished 998 Point out of 1000 Winner! The History is Great and the Proof is in the pudding or better stated 'In the Cutlass itself' The Amazing quality of this restoration is second to none and that's not our opinion, that is the opinion of the revered judges of two National Concours Events held in Illinois and the other in Massachussets. The first after completion had the Olds top out at just over 960 points taking top honors for the event... When you are a brand enthusiast and true collector with broad experience and knowledge in the make and models you tend to be a bit compulsive; So the Olds went back to the restorer to fine tune the screw tips on the Convertible Top that were not as was when born in 1972. The minute detail was rectified and re-introduced in front of the experts where it now received an amazing 998 points and too won top honors. Just to be clear 1000 points belong to new 1972 vehicles literally in or close to 1972 and last I checked my time machine is not working as the chip shortage has affected us all, even us time travelers... LOL! This is a Real Deal Oldsmobile with original, matching, and OEM componentry throughout. Matching Numbers Hurst Olds that has all of the Pedigree and Documents to go with it. The Pavement Pounding 455ci Beast is Matching as born with including its carburetor, intake, exhaust manifolds, distributor, and all of its entirety. The Bellhousing is Correct but has been replaced during restoration. Rear End is also Original and Born With Matching. Once assembled this Olds has only had 20 miles put on it and that is over the past 12 years; The convertible top as all other options work flawlessly but because of its show and concours potention, not to mention very particular owner the top has never been down so to avoid wrinkles. Like I previously mentioned,, 'Compulsive' but in a very very good way. Facts! Oldsmobile had paced the Indy 500 just two years earlier with the 4-4-2, but in 1972 teamed up with Hurst Performance Products to build a modified Cutlass convertible that is most often referred to simply as the "'72 Hurst/Olds". It was the first time in Speedway history that an automotive parts manufacturer's name was included in the pace car title. The car's 455 cubic inch V-8 produced 300hp. The Hurst/Olds was driven by Jim Rathmann, his second time behind the wheel of the pace car. BTW,,, We have the detailed build / restoration album that goes with the car. Only 629 Hurst/Olds Cutlasses were manufactured in 1972 - 130 convertibles and 499 hardtops. We sell and ship worldwide as well as handle large collections Air Conditioning, Center Console Storage, Tinted Glass, Armrests - Dual Front, Power Steering, Automatic Transmission, Am/Fm Radio, Luxury Package, Sports Package, Chrome Wheels, Full-Size Spare Tire, Spare Tire, Bucket Seats
