Being offered is a stunning 2001 Mustang Cobra convertible, this vehicle has been adult driven, never modified, never raced, and has been pampered and well maintained since new. This 2001 Ford Mustang Cobra V8 convertible, finished in yellow with a black fabric convertible top, with a 4.6 liter 32-valve V8 running through a five-speed manual transmission, with a two-tone grey and black leather interior is excellent. This “New Edge” SN99-generation Mustang benefitted from the return of the Cobra trim line as a performance spec Mustang. With an entirely different motor than the regular V8 GT’s, the dual overhead cam 32-valve V8, which in this later version produced 320HP, a substantial 60 hp difference over the single-cam GT motor used at the time. With uprated brakes and a firmer suspension, the Cobra is a valuable low-volume model, especially in convertible form. This example is in very good condition, original with no modifications, and is ready to go for its next owner. Exterior
The exterior of the vehicle is amazing, this car looks fast sitting still. The zinc yellow clear coat paint on the car is excellent and is set off by all the Cobra emblems and decals. The vehicle is equipped with its original polished aluminum 5 spoke SVT 17” wheels with excellent tires. This vehicle looks awesome with the power operated black convertible roof up or down, the top is in great original shape and a boot is included to give a nice finished look with the top down. The Mustang has a color keyed rear spoiler that adds to the sporty look. This is a vehicle that will provide years of deprecation free driving if kept in the condition it is in. These cars are sure to be highly sought after and this one is an outstanding example, and it’s a convertible.
Interior
The interior is like the rest of the car, excellent. The black leather bucket seats are set off with the grey velour inserts with Cobra insignias. The center console is excellent and houses the 5 speed shifter to add to the sporty feel of this piece of Muscle car history. This vehicle is loaded with options including Cold AC, Mach 460 Sound System that sounds awesome, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, tilt wheel, and cruise control. All interior components are in outstanding condition as can be seen in the photos. The vehicle has a full compliment of bright gauges including an in dash tach, all of which are in good working order. Overall the interior of the vehicle is in like new.
Mechanical
Mechanically the vehicle is just plain awesome with the 4.6L 4V OHC V8 engine. This vehicle has been well maintained and starts, runs, drives, and stops without issue. The car has an awesome sounding exhaust system with stainless tipped dual exhaust exiting the rear. The 5 speed transmission shifts flawlessly, this car is a blast to drive.
