Body off frame restored. Built in California. Same owner since
1985- that's 38 years! I believe they started with a really clean
rust-free Camaro, took it completely apart and restored it.
EXTERIOR: Clean, rust free, damage free metal. It is straight and
fits right. Has a metal cowl hood and a rear spoiler. The paint is
slick! It is smooth and glossy, although it does have age cracking
if you look for it. Slick painted jambs. Weatherstrips were
replaced. The chrome is bright. Original glass. 15 inch rally
wheels with BFG tires, taller and fatter in back give it a muscle
stance.
INTERIOR: Dash pad, door panels, upholstery, headliner were
replaced. Aftermarket white face oil and temp gauges and a matching
tachometer. The 4-speed has a reverse lock out. Deluxe wheel.
Overall, very nice.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Strong running 396 engine. High performance is
cast on the block. It has stock manifolds, valve covers, and air
cleaner. The components all look clean- alternator, radiator, horns
etc. The engine bay is clean metal painted smooth.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Pristine rust-free metal neatly spatter painted.
Under the trunk lid and jamb are glossy. Weatherstrip looks
new.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame and the underside of this car
is completely restored. The metal is so clean it was prepped and
painted gloss red. All the chassis components are gloss black. The
front-end steering and suspension has been completely rebuilt: ball
joints, ball joints, shocks, springs, steering components swaybar
etc. Same thing in back: springs, bushings and shocks were
replaced. It has traction bars. Great sounding Flowmaster dual
exhaust system. Replaced fuel system including the tank, straps and
sending unit. It has disc brakes in front, drum in back. Looking up
at the motor it is clean, starter, fuel pump and motor mounts all
look fresh. It has a 1970 Muncie M20 4-speed trans. It looks clean.
In back it has a 12 bolt rear with 3.31 posi gears and a finned
aluminum cover.
It is a clean slate. A lot of people like the basic sleeper look
and would leave it as it sits. You could also make it your own and
build as you go with stripes, accessories, wheels etc. Either way
the car is ready to be enjoyed starting now.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
