This 2005 Chevrolet SSR is a one-owner low-mileage stunner that has
everything you want, like a loaded interior, the more powerful V8,
and the rarely-seen six-speed. And while this hardtop convertible
was already a specialty-built machine from Chevy, there has been a
big investment in this one inside and out to make it a truly
singular creation with unique details you won't find elsewhere.
Slingshot Yellow was one of the boldest ways to hit the streets,
and so it only seems fitting for this custom SSR like this. The
exterior has been modified for a full custom style. It starts up
front with a lightweight fiberglass cowl hood that announces the
LS2 power underneath. There are also polished grille inserts to
match the slats, a rear spoiler on the hard tonneau, larger dual
exhaust tips, and a custom trailer hitch. The SSR was inspired by
the hot-rodded Advance Design pickups, and so this has an elegant
full custom pinstriping package to further the custom cruiser
connection. We particularly like the body kit. While some SSR's had
optional running boards, this sleek ground effects package connects
the retro-cook rounded fenders with a very fluid rocker design. And
the added ground-hugging style to the front and rear is positively
sporty. As a one-owner car, all these added investments show a
devotion to this modern classic. That's why it has such a low
odometer (averaging about 2,300 miles annually) and any time on the
road was done with care. That's why the paint retains a terrific
gloss, the panels line up so nicely, and the polished alloys shine
brightly. This well-kept style goes right down to the smooth
operation of the SSR's hardtop that compactly folds away and
disappears with barely a trace for a terrific roadster pickup
look.
The interior continues the custom upgraded style. For example, the
yellow inserts in the leather seats and doors are a pure custom
piece, and they go so well with the waterfall of yellow running
from the back and onto the center console. It makes for a more
comprehensive connection with the exterior color, and that always
looks impressive when the top is down. There's also more custom
pinstriping and plenty of added polish to really make the interior
a focal point even when the exterior is so custom. Part of being
seen in this SSR also means a love for hitting the road. That's
because this is loaded with the best comfort features like power
windows, power locks, keyless entry/alarm, dual front airbags, side
airbags, a tilt steering column, cruise control, power seats,
heated seats, and cold-blowing air conditioning. The stereo keeps
the Bose speakers, but now you have an upgraded infotainment
touchscreen that runs the radio, Bluetooth, and backup camera. The
huge bed/trunk is needed because it's how you can haul home all the
extras this comes with, like many of the stock components and fun
accessories.
While all SSRs are V8-powered, not all were created equal. During
the limited run, a later model like this received the 6.0-liter LS2
V8. This fuel-injected powerplant was shared with the Corvette, and
it represented more than a 30% upgrade in power over the previous
year. In fact, the rare six-speed manual versions like this one
were a little more powerful than the automatics. So, you get extra
muscle and full control over it, too! The engine bay loves to
showcase this desirable powerhouse with plenty of polished pieces,
a mirrored inner hood, and a bold yellow intake that's also a
tribute to Dale Earnhardt. And it's not just pure flair as you'll
also spot some substance like upgraded air intake. As you look at

presentation, but also a few other added details that make this
