Generation Firebird's and Trans Am's are incredibly cool and have
been gaining in value and demand in recent years. They are the
sister car to the Chevrolet Camaro but have a look that is uniquely
their own, and this example is loaded with options including cold
blowing A/C!
Pontiac for 1968 built 107,112 Firebirds and only 16,960 were
convertibles making this a rare muscle car treat. The chrome grill
with dual headlights on each side scream 1960s muscle car! In the
rear the taillights are also different from the Camaro and are
divided with a Firebird emblem and Pontiac badging.
The nicely conditioned power convertible roof on this car gives it
a sex appeal that ties in nicely with the sleek look achieved by
the front spoiler and rally wheels. Firebird script on the fenders
and Firebird emblems on the quarter panels ensure people will know
what they're looking at from any angle. Under the hood is a 350 CID
V8 engine with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock
intake manifold. The built V8 mates to an automatic transmission
running to a 10-bolt rear end to complete its powertrain assembly.
A new aluminum radiator has been added along with a transmission
cooler to keep this beauty cool on long drives. A new distributor,
rebuilt carburetor, fuel pressure regulator, Optima battery, and
radio have also been added in the last year. The Firebird has
full-length headers running to dual exhaust with Dynomax mufflers
for a killer muscle car sound.
Inside is as luxurious as it is comfortable with bucket seats and a
center console and an addition of a Super Tach II . A stock AM/FM
radio caresses the interior with its sounds while driving with the
top down for open air appeal while driving on the beach or touring
through the city. The Firebird is simple and clean, painted in a
high gloss yellow complimented with painted black stripes that
showcase the 400 hood on this beautiful street machine. Under the
hood is almost completely stock complimented with power brakes,
power steering, and AC. The power steering and AC makes for easy
driving and the perfect Florida car. The dual exhaust has a great
classic muscle car sound to go along with the stance, body lines
and wheels. Yellow paint is always good on a classic car and the
beige interior plays very well off of it for a rich look. All
receipts from 2008 when the vehicle was purchased by the current
owner and of work completed are included with the purchase. The
current owner had the entire suspension rebuilt recently.
